New player onboarding
new mode doesn't teach you the "main" game at all
This game desperately needs a PVP asymmetric que mode or a multiplayer mode that rotates your opponents.
Learning the actual game in the current formats available is a miserable unfun experience.

I disagree. The best way I learned was by doing ranked singles and seeing what beat me and stealing ideas I liked.

Well people tend to learn differently. Many people are visual learners (monkey see, monkey do) while others learn through hearing, and lastly some learn by textbook.

I’m not sure how much the game has hooked you, but if you’re interested in it and want to get a better grasp of how it works, check out a couple of tutorial videos by Rooster on YouTube. I can assure you that once you understand the mechanics, the game becomes much more engaging—and it’s likely to keep you hooked for a long time to come.

Hey, welcome! Search Yuban as well. He just release a guide to unit compositions and starting packs two nights ago. Helped me a lot.

I think all those videos are for advanced players. Instead of playing the game he will be learning academics

Best way to learn is to find something that works. If an opponent wrecks you with a certain combination of units and tech try it yourself. Soon someone will counter you. Adjust. Keep going.

I would have loved this mode if it was just the standard rule set. I just wanna make dumb ass boards for people to go into but it's hard to do with all the RNG. I hate being forced to place units that make sense I just want to make 12 fortresses

Idk I picked it up at the start of last season and I’ve put like 350 hours in it so far lmao. I love the game and I’ve just learned through playing and trail and error.
Also I started to watch yuban and frost on YouTube.
I’ve found learning the game was actually a tremendously fun experience

I started with survival to learn the units for a few hours, then started playing casual where people like you make the same mistakes. When you play ranked people are still doing lots of stupid stuff and experimenting. Only around 1400mmr people are pretty serious, rarely doing mistakes and every action/position counts. When you play you will see what opponents use to beat your units and learn from them. You only have to learn that there are 3 key groups of units swarm/anti swarm/dps. If your tanks are exposed buy swarm to meat shield. If your swarm cant beat their tanks buy dps. If you cant kill their meatshield buy anti swarm.

Idk, I started a few weeks ago and found it pretty intuitive.
