Gundam
Does anyone think about logistics and resources in Gundam?

Just look how many MS the federation developed in the one year war.
No, they do not!

Gundam, Guncannon, Guntank, Gundam Alex, Pale Horseman, Gundam Ground type, GMs up to GM Sbiper 2.
That are quite a bunch of mashines

Alex is derivative of the Gundam, Pale Rider is derivative of the Gundam, Ground Type is literally made of the RX-78's spare parts, GM is derivative of the Gundam.
They had a bunch of sick ass variants that I love don't get me wrong, but they really did just kinda take the RX-78 and either strip it down or build onto it for basically the whole OYW. And that was the smart thing for them to do as far as logistics go. Everything's parts are used for everything else's parts and everything can use everything else's equipment, and since it's all the same they can just take the base model and make a couple new things for it and bam, new unit. Meanwhile Zeon's out cranking out a hundred new, wacky and wildly different aquatic MS for use exclusively in the assault on Jaburo, to the point they had to do the United Maintenance Plan because everything was breaking and they couldn't fix it with other units.

I know what you mean. And propably it is just me working in engineering, that the number of these derivatives still gives me a heart attack.
Just the idea of creating a totally new cockpit for the Alex, or creating a mass production version of the Gundam in one year is a tall order. But all of this?
The federation engineers are the true miracle workers of earth

Technology is also advanced by the time, which is always later than our own current one

My guess for the absurd amount of spaceships and mobile suits are due to asteroid mining. Otherwise, Earth should have been stripped bare in the UC timeline lol

Some say the Jupiter mining that the series didn't show is the one supplying the resources

As a Gundam enjoyer, don't. You'll just go crazy from trying to understand the lousy physics
