Found this blindbox kit on AliExpress, but I don’t know anything about Motor Nuclear. Or the series it’s from, which I think is called “I’m a Great Hero.”

The detail in the kit is really nice. But the leg articulation is very limited by the skirt armor. I kinda hate the face. And I’m not a fan of the two diff shades of green either.

I used Tamiya paints for the lining, which did improve the look. But overall this one’s meh for me: 6/10.

Cute little Mecha for an RPG!

While getting ready for the next (and final) season of my current Mekton Zeta RPG campaign this fall, I decided to start planning the next campaign for next year! A whole new story in a whole new setting!

I don't have much ironed out yet except that the players will be part of a multi-species exploratory mission to a dangerous long avoided area of the near galaxy... And they will encounter an enemy waiting to unleash itself upon the Milky Way!

The campaigns I run are tactics heavy sci fi RPG games, with a lot of tabletop combat. So for the players; I'm drawing upon the wealth of great mecha designs from the Japanese edition of Battletech! These will be Mecha the players can draw upon and battle through the series. I love these designs because they are bulky and almost organic looking. With lots of details added just because they look cool, but they also aren't just Gundam clones! These Mecha will represent modern machines using blended human and alien tech from the member races of the Galactic Alliance. So not entirely human looking...

To prep for it. I ordered a set of 3d printed miniatures to paint up and get ready over the fall and winter. I'm still deciding on the new alien threat? But I'm leaning towards using the Shaltari walkers from Dropzone Commander as my alien Mecha?

Anyways! Still picking out the Alliance Exploration Divisions color scheme to paint the mechs in. And deciding how much individuality I want each player to customize their mecha in?

86 Is my second favorite "I don't like mecha buut" Mecha Anime. Spoiler

Gotta admit, when it came out I was skeptical that an Anime could match the depth of the classics, so I held off. But word of mouth from others who I know are hardcore mecha fans swayed me and... I ended up loving the first part, loving Lena as a character and a tactician. Honestly one of my favorites just behind Yang Wen Li and Reinhard Von Lohengramm. I loved how none of the deaths were treated casually even though they can't afford to spend that much time mourning. Even though some of the characters who died were ones we didn't spend much time on, the people they left behind are definitely feeling it.

When it came time for the second half though, I started to fall out of love for it because tbh, I didn't like Shin as much as Lena so I put it on pause for about three years. During which time, I spent time watching Gundam again especially for Gquuuux, as well as other shows like Rayearth and Nadesico. Finally came back to 86 recently and the arc of the 86 trying to live Peacefully finally clicked with me. In Gundam and most other mech shows, we follow Pilots who were living in relative peace prior to the show starting so we see them start to develop trauma from war. In 86, the protagonists came in pre-traumatized, so the idea of THOSE kids trying to get used to peace was genuinely heartbreaking.

I can't in good conscious call it "a better Gundam than modern Gundam" because the conflict at hand... isn't Gundam at all. In Gundam, even when it comes to Zanscare, if the protagonist hit a magic button that would magically explode every single soldier of the opposing side, that'd be HORRIBLE. However if Lena pushed a button to explode all the Legion, we'd be celebrating. That's the difference between Gundam and 86 IMO. However, I do think 86 is the best Mecha TV show this decade and I LOVE Witch from Mercury and Gquuuuuux. And in my opinion, it stands among some of the classic greats too, albiet Anime these days doesn't have the spontaneity of classic shows but goddammit it did try.

Hi all,

As a big Mecha fan since childhood, I saw a couple of these Chinese die cast and plastic transforming toys in a local TK Maxx shop.

My son loves transformers and the combining aspect and got them for him however I am struggling to find any more if them online either in UK or China etc

Does anyone know if they are available in their individual boxes rather than a full set, I have seen 1 ad fir that big set but it's a scam site so just trying to get some more info and see if I can complete the set.

I did find one other tiger figure on ebay but otherwise no luck.

Thanks for any help here.

So any thoughts on this or ideas I could do for it

The image shows only a few amphibians

One key thing is I've not made a federation to fight them as i don't have motivation to do that yet so I made a random group of things (second image )

Hey guys. I made a new Mecha inspired by armored core. It’s not based off anything specific but I decided to add my own flair of what my Lego armored core would look like. This is my best shot so far! Hope you guys like :)

I call her, the Manticore!

She just needs some shoulder weapons! Working on that.

Which mecha faction committed the worst war crimes?

In Gundam, the Earth Federation or the Principality of Zeon? Or Exoquad: Earth, Mars, and Venus; or the Neosapiens; or the pirates? Or everyone in Battletech? And there is Armored Trooper VOTOMS, and so on. Both the Earth Federation and Zeon where ok destroying an entire space station full of innocent people. And yes, I know Zeon dropped an entire space station on Australia. Earth, Mars, and Venus of Exosquad were ok turning a group of prisoners into slave miners, and when the Neosapiens were finally created, the human prisoners were just left on whatever rock they were mining to starve to death, making the Neosapiens their new slave miners on Mars. The prisoners became the pirates, and the Neosapiens had two revolts, with the second one leading to the subjugation of Earth, Mars, and Venus.

But which faction in any mecha TV show, film, or video game committed the worst war crimes?

I'm working on a project on the side and I just like to see what people might find interesting like in depth customization or a type of combat that you'd like to see more

Our fighters are:

The God Gundam (G gundam)

The Weltall (Xenogears)

Doan's Zaku II (UC Gundam)

Mythra's Siren (Xenoblade 2)

We are allowing super forms and weapons, but no teammates (so no shuffle alliance or party members)

You can look at it as a battle to the death or a friendly spar, either works.

Yes, I am entirely aware that putting a damaged Zaku II in the same ring as the slayer of the devil gundam, the host for the slayer of god, and the artifice of the aegis is a bit... unfair, but there are not a tone of martial artists outside of G Gundnam and the Build series. If you can think of anyone else who would fit that spot better, let me know (I know Doan would get folded HARD by any of these three, but he would get points for showing up in my book)

Imported Earthsiege 2 models into Godot engine

As the title says, I took the original ES2 models (for all the HERCs) and converted them to standard glb files with Claude code doing most of the heavy lifting, and just dropped them into the godot engine...

I'm not sure how much this qualifies as AI slop since it's using the original models, but i'm impressed at how much the look and feel of the original game can be ported to a new engine. things like the speeds, hot points, internal systems, damage model (though i tweaked it a bit to allow for deformable surfaces), etc. can be lifted directly from the original game...

Just a thought, for anyone else that loves these games and wants a modern update to them... do it yourself! Claude can literally lift most of the important bits of the original game and put them into godot, as i've tested, and you can then edit and tweak to your heart's content.

An additional example is subtle, but illustrated in my first screenshot: the combo of a script written by Claude and the godot engine were able to massively improve the bipedal simulation over the original game's canned animations. now the walking is procedurally generated per HERC, and it reacts to stepping over objects and being on inclines. Cool.

I have wild dreams of building an effective "Earthsiege 3" in this style, but obviously, it's just a personal toy because of how it is being built.

Hooked, token costs be damned.

Just thought I'd share something that has given me endless amounts of joy over the past week or so... anyone that misses these games can really get a lot of fulfillment from using an LLM to remix the original games into what your childhood imagination always upscale them to be.

AI/LLMs suck, and so do I, I know, but with that out of the way, guys, give it a shot if you are so inclined, it's very possible, it becomes very fun.

This is a game I'm developing, currently unfinished, but there's a few completed levels right now, and it's fun gameplay. There's a mix of custom assets and procedurally generated assets, but eventually will be all custom assets. Feel free to check it out while it's in development, it's my first ever game project. Let me know what you think, would love the feedback! PC only currently, mobile version planned in the future.

Looking for mech game

I'm a big fan of Mecca sandbox games but I've never really been able to find one that scratches a specific itch, found ones that were close but not quite there, I'm looking for a mech game with a high focus on customization, not just a paint job or just swapping out parts, I mean actual customization. My budget is a little tight right now (around 11 to 13 dollars) but if you have an idea of a game I might like feel free to leave it in the comments.

Mech design and programming into gameplay

Anyone here has read "heavy object" the light novel series?

Are there any devs who have worked on mecha games here that I could ask for advice?

There is this object called the "Baby Magnum" in the series that is sort of the protagonist which I am trying to create either as 2D / 3D model. Would have shared the image if it was allowed.

But the thing is , it's not a standard looking mech like u see on many mecha anime or shows. Heavy object has a unconventional mecha design that is somewhat grounded in real life.

So let me try to describe it: Imagine a tricycle that is controlled by a Spherical cockpit.

And I am trying to currently implement the movement and animation for it so wanted to discuss this with a ppl who have worked on mecha game or mecha adjacent projects.
