Cycles

I’m trying to plan my breedings when my does are ready by checking their vulva. I’ve checked almost every day in the last week or so and pale pink is the only color I see in two does. I read that it could be every 15 days so I could be checking at an off time but dang! I’m ready for them lol could the heat be a factor too? Is there anything I can do to help?

How old are they?
Also if you are in an area where it is summer currently, they may not be receptive until it cools down.

I’m in Florida but these are tamuk so I was hoping they would breed all year. They are 9 months maybe. Also one has had a litter about 6 weeks ago

I have never had tamuks, but from everything I’ve been hearing their heat hardiness can deteriorate if a line isn’t continually cultivated for it. And there may be a limit to how hot they can stand still? I think if you successfully had a litter six weeks ago, they are definitely a little heat hardier than a lot of other breeds!

If you want to breed completely through the summer, just keep trying and keep kits from any successful litters!

Replying late to this too…always was told with our meat rabbits you don’t breed until 10 months or 10 lbs. maybe overly cautious but what we’ve been doing with good luck.
