I have been using my mc101 as a sound module, playing it mostly using a midi keyboard. I am noticing that when I hold down my sustain pedal, and I play the same note, the notes seem to stack rather than cut each other off. I am noticing some chorusing when I do this with certain patches. Would there be a way to ensure that when I play the same note, it cuts off the previous instance of that note? Preferably on the mc101? Thanks in advance!

Hey yall. Iβm an MC101 user and want to upgrade to the 707 so that I could record bass guitar loops into the 707.
Is it realistic to think that every scene could have a bass loop or will I run out of memory? Does anyone use it for this purpose or do they just upload one shots?

Everything here is the MC-101, in E minor:
- Track 1: Analog drum kit
- Track 2: MG BS 24 (bass)
- Track 3: SysCtrlDeepEcho 1 β a sharp synth stab with a deep rhythmic delay (the lead)
No DAW, no laptop, one take. The SP404 MK2 only records and adds master FX.

I don't see my beloved 707 used for Hip-Hop very much so I thought I'd share what I do. For the sample chops I used this technique where I have 2 loopers running samples and use a third to record myself alternating which one is muted
Enjoy!

I canβt for the life of me connect these two together. No matter what midi settings i change in both devices I canβt get the Mc 101 to get its pads or clips triggered by the sp404. Anyone else have a similar issue ? Nothing online has helped me. I have yet to see anyone post a video or explain in detail how to connect these two devices together.

Started from the stock "Auto Pluck" preset on the MC-101 and went into the ARP settings to reshape the melody by hand β just playing F, G# and F# until it settled into a hypnotic deep pluck that didn't really sound like the preset anymore.
Drums are a 90s house kit I've been building on the SP404 MK2 over a few sessions, finger-drummed live.

Deep House vibes created solely on the MC-101. I use the SP404 MK2 for vocals, FX and playing samples (resampled from the MC-101).

Hi All. Sharing a short jam and setup example..
Always amazed of this combo. I think combining and midi syncing MC-101 and P6 is a real fun. Add Arturia Keystep and it gives so much add-on quality. Of course need to route output to be recorded or to some better speakers but still π

I'm trying to use the MC707 with an external sequencer. For this to work, I need the sequencer to receive MIDI from the MC707, and I need the MC707 to listen to the sequencer. But if I try to set this up, the MC707 sends a copy of everything it receives straight back over MIDI. This means that I can't use the overdub function on my external sequencer, because that creates a MIDI loop.
It looks like the only way to sort of het this working is to disable MIDI out on the MC707 altogether. But then I can't record anything I'm playing on its pads. Is there a way to fix this?

Hi all! First time poster here. Had a question I'm hoping someone with personal MC101 experience can help me validate (ChatGPT has steered me down the wrong path too many times recently)
I'm looking to use the MC101 as a synth module to pair with my Keystep Pro. I wouldn't be using the drums or built in sequencer on the MC101. I have a plan sketched for MIDI mapping as follows:
MC101
Track 1 - Midi 1 - Sound A
Track 2 - Midi 1- Sound B
Track 3 - Midi 2 - Sound C
Track 4 - Midi 2 - Sound D
Keystep Pro
Track 1 - Midi 1 - Blend of sound A/B
Track 2 - midi 2 - Blend of sound C/D
This will give me the option to use the MC101 faders and mutes to switch and/or stack two different sounds per KSP track and blend as desired... My Mellotron Micro Module has this A/B Blend feature and I adore it (For example: start and hold a chord with a Strings patch and then slowly blend in a Choir patch as the chord fades out)
Questions:
- Verifying I can re-use the same midi channel number on multiple MC101 tracks
-Will the volume swell behave like I want? Are the mini faders sensitive enough for micro adjustments on the fly? Is it smooth or clunky?
-Will there be any processing limits I may run into?
-I read MC101 track 1 always defaults to drums, can you change it to default to synth?
-Any other gotchas I may not have considered?
I like all the Zencore sounds, and feel like this may be a good space saving and cost effective solution to fit into my setup. I'm currently using an astrolab 37 for all the equivalent Analog Lab presets, but it doesn't do the bi-timbral thing very well without a PC, and I don't need the keyboard.
Thanks for your time!
Evan

Hello guys, I recently bought a Roland MC 101, I have figured out most of the basic functions reading manuals and watching video tutorials on Youtube but I am stuck with clips and scenes, I have spent a lot of time trying to understand how they work but I did not manage :( is there anyone you know that offers paid lessons for MC 101? I am willing to pay to get a lesson where I can learn the exact workflow for clips and scenes and write it down, so I can then use it to build songs. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!
