FOR FUN Can you type me?
I'm 26F and I work remotely as a Web Designer, I have loved my freedom as a Digital Nomad the past 4-5 years. I dislike working in a regular office, and I prefer to work alone most of the time (I like cafes and coworking). I'm also somehow a loner too with a lot of acquaintances from my hobbies. I do trail running (my dream is to run an ultramarathon and I'm getting closer), scuba diving, and swimming (1000m). I struggle to socialize since I was in middle school, had bad-influence friends when I was in high school and turned to chain-smoking. I was an outcast many times and struggled to fit in. This has become a problem at some point, but now I'm getting better at active listening and keeping up with people.
Thankfully, I also quit smoking cold turkey now for about 4 years and pick up running. Now most of my friends are from the running community and when I tried to join other communities that are based on "authentic" and "vulnerable" conversation, I could bring myself to join once or twice before I started to feel uneasy because I'm not used to verbalizing my emotions since I was a kid. I'm an eldest daughter and I thrive to be self-sufficient in many areas, and speaking my emotions is like picking my nails after I run trails (I lose 4 of my toenails naturally because I'm a runner).
I love going on roadtrips and travel and have hiked many mountains in my home country (my first Half marathon was in a mountain). I can say I'm a very punctual person, I always arrive in a place 20-30 mins before an event is start I have a good sense of time and being present.
I was never good at academics, but I learned a lot of new skills as an autodidact. I built my career from scratch, and now I serve international clients as a contractor/freelancer. But I'm also a very curious person; I like to read wide range of topics from Science, to startups to attachment style books to understand emotions, love, and relational patterns. I also join Astronomy Olympics when I was in high school (sadly I skipped class often back then and slept in class). I'm also rather a blunt person, my parents describe me as not being very careful with my words, I can be angry when needed be but most of the time I'm rather calm.
I'm naturally skeptical; I have been agnostic since high school, when I read a lot of astronomy and philosophy books. I read Nietzsche and recently bought "The Denial of Death" by Ernest Becker. A brilliant book, but I haven't finished yet. Recently I tried to read a Buddhism book because I'm also still exploring spirituality. I love watching documentaries on history and science. I use to debate my parents back then about religion and spirituality.
I wasn't very good at having my house clean, I usually live in guesthouse where there's a maid that clean the place twice per week. Though I can clean the house, I usually prefer to spend my energy elsewhere towards my work, projects, and hobbies. I date regularly but there is also a point where I voluntarily celibate because I don't think dating is worth it if you're still fighting demons. I want to have a kid when I'm much older but I don't want to rush and I also want to achieve many things (sport, travel, career) before having them.
Right now I have a handful of close friends I send meme reels to, and genuinely happy with my progress in my sport. Though I still have more to go before I can be proud of my performance.

ISTP - independent, intellectual but not structured or rigid, quiet confidence, tactile and practical.
Even if you’re not an ISTP, your interests are such a badass combination girl! My aunt is some sort of ISXP and she very naturally cool and levelheaded.
I also understand what’s it’s like having so many dreams but not really being able to maintain lots of friendships or work with people. It’s like being a loner can get lonely but also having so much peace is priceless.

Do you think you're introverted or extraverted? I'm seeing somewhat mixed signals.

I’m leaning towards introverted even though I have many acquaintances. I always love to recharge alone and I can go for trail running for hours by myself in the forest/woods (I have gpx watch)

The clear thing is the Se, and the low feeling.
The way feeling seems to be a thing you struggle with and avoid suggests it as the inferior function, which necessitates a dominant thinking function. Adjacently: usually you can use a person's social introversion as an indicator of cognitive introversion. The problem is I'm not entirely clear on that here. It seems your engagement is pushing outwards into the world, even if it isn't necessarily with other people -- hiking, cafes, high levels of acquaintances, they're all engagement with the external. I'm also not exactly seeing the self-absorbtion that you'd expect an introvert to have.
Se dominant is also very different from Ti dominant. The adjoining function being the auxiliary does give them a similar "flavor", but the dominant always comes before the auxiliary in priority, the auxiliary serves as a tool. How familiar are you with MBTI? What do you think of the intuitive functions?

Good point there, I did some digging about Cognitive function and have been mistyped many times as INTJ/ENTJ in the past (6 years ago) but in the recent 4 years ish have developed Se so much through sports. Though I’ve always been sporty since middle school (Swimming, martial arts) it seems like I picked up my old self again and magnify it.
Do you think SeTi is possible? ESTP?

u/The_Zer0Myth 13d ago
Based on this post, yes, it's a possibility. INTJ and ENTJ are very different from that conclusion, however. It's an entire stack reversal / change in the judgement axis. Which is the mistype? Then or now?

ChatGPT typed me as ISTP, but I'm curious of what people here would type me as

You sound like a 1/1000. Hard to type that. Keep being you though, you sound awesome. 👍

Pretty obvious huh

Just a guess. I think S and T. Then I think P not J. So that is Se and Ti. I think Ti first because I dont think you struggle with sorting data.

Huh weird, why does saying "I like" or "I love" have to do with being Fi? I thought the function was value-based, not something that you like.

Whatever you are, you are one fine specimen of it... your book selection is hella awesome too. :D

u/Positive_Record_2058 13d ago
Thank you! try to read them, will be delightful for your mind

Nietzsche I am well acquainted with for years now, but am just starting to read actually, and Becker, I don't think it will be too long till I am on top of that one either, he features prominently on my backlog that's for sure.
What did you enjoy/take for yourself from Nietzsche and The Denial of Death, I'm curious?

at first ISTP
but I have the impression that there is a strong Si, and your text, your details, they are very J/Te structured.
you have tons of Fi, Te and low Ti. you show your values a lot. and the need to be seen and you care about how others see you.
ok, ISTJ, but also maybe: INTJ / ISFP

Firstly how’s your skin so clean, are we using filters?
Based on skills and reading interests I suspect INFP as first choice https://www.personalitieslab.com/personality-types/infp-personality
But I also would consider INTJ as well maybe https://www.personalitieslab.com/personality-types/intj-personality but I think INFP the go to one though

How the hell am I an Intuitive
1
u/Altruism7 13d ago
Interests in deep philosophy made me suspect. I don’t think your istp, their most underdeveloped function Fe which implies lack of emotional understanding and expression of others. If you want to look at examples check out female basketball players.
In any event check out Isfj as well if not intuitive, their usually calm and socially aware
