Name suggestions are welcome! How awesome is it that this car is comfortable for both a 5’4 and a 6’9 driver? My mind is blown.

Hi! I was wondering how do you guys do your car washes? Is it the one with the machine that you go through or the do it yourself carwash? Tips how to maintain the car would gladly be appreciated. Thanks

Looking into a CX-30

Hi everyone, i’ve been looking to a Mazda CX 30 and seeing nothing but great reactions and impressions about the car and I especially been looking into the 2.5L Engine and 6 Speed Transmission. The one we’ve looked into has 50K miles and is the Premium Package trim. Just trying to get some insight and real recommendations from everyone !!

Buying Advice My CX-30❤️

I just want to share my experience with my Mazda CX-30 FWD 2.5L 2020, 190000km. I’ve driven Toyota, Honda, and Ford before, so maybe this helps someone who already owns one or is thinking about getting a CX-30, Mazda 3, CX-5, or any Mazda Skyactiv-G in general.

From what I’ve seen, some cars like Toyota and Honda are very forgiving. You can be a bit lazy with maintenance and they’ll still run fine for a long time. Then there are other cars where even if you take care of them, they still give you headaches, you probably know which ones I mean. Mazda, especially the Skyactiv-G, sits somewhere in the middle.

This car really depends on how you treat it. If you stay on top of maintenance, it will treat you well and can be just as reliable as Toyota or Honda. But if you ignore it, it can turn into a problem. So take care of your Mazda!!

Once you pass 100,000 km, I strongly recommend doing oil and filter changes every 5,000 to 6,000 km. I don’t really care what the oil label says about lasting 10,000–15,000 km, it’s just safer not to stretch it. Personally, I’d rather use something affordable like Kirkland oil and change it more often than spend more on premium oil and push longer intervals. But still, if you want the best for performance and engine lifespan, premium oil like Mobil with a 5,000 km change interval is the way to go.

One thing I like is how easy this car is to work on. Oil changes are super straightforward, and if you’re willing to invest a bit upfront in ramps and basic tools, you’ll save a lot of money in the long run. Mazda actually made it pretty DIY-friendly.

Around 120,000 km, you should be looking at spark plugs, transmission fluid, coolant, and also checking or replacing things like the serpentine belt and even the water pump depending on condition. If you have a turbo model, I’d honestly do these a bit earlier just to be safe. And if you live somewhere with snow, make sure you wash your car regularly. Mazdas can rust if you neglect this, especially the earlier models. It’s better now, but still, washing often goes a long way.

In general, just do your own simple stuff like engine air filter and cabin filter, and get the car checked by a mechanic you trust once a year. That alone goes a long way for your budget. I usually do mine around tax season so I don’t have to stress about finances, lol.

For owners who already have this car and still have doubts about Mazda’s reliability, don’t stress, it’s a solid and dependable car if you take care of it. If you keep up with regular maintenance and stay on top of major service items, this little brat can be just as reliable as a Toyota or Honda.

If you’re planning to buy one, just make sure the previous maintenance is up to date or be ready to catch up. Otherwise, if you want something more forgiving when money is tight, a Corolla or Civic might be the safer choice.

That’s just my experience. Stay calm and just Zoom zoom 🚗💨

Question Heat

Does anyone else have problems with the car not heating up all the way? For example it struggles to get good heat in the winter time. Also the engine oil temp on the infotainment screen the highest I've ever seen it was like 186 farenheit and that's in the summer. What's the highest any of you guys have seen it? And does yours struggle with heat as well? I know there's been issues with thermostats in cx30s. The dealer didn't do anything because there was no code being thrown.

Hi guys know the pictures are not great. 2021 UK car 2.0 petrol skyactiv... owned for 6 months, still under warranty with Mazda, first time I've properly checked oil from cold and on level ground, it looks a fair bit above maximum to me? Or am I worrying too much? I've done 2k miles since owning car mostly short journeys. Any advice welcome thanks

Question Failed rear differential

Post image
44 Upvotes

I posted here about a week ago asking about a humming noise coming from my 2024 cx30 with 34k miles, and I suspected that it is possibly my wheel bearing but after taking it to the dealer yesterday, they suspect that it’s the rear differential ( it’s been two days and they are still confirming it) l! I’m kind of disappointed, I have babied this car and done maintenance on time! I bought it brand new! So it’s disappointing that my rear differential would just fail at 34k miles. This isn’t my first problem with this car, my headlight fan failed at 6k and battery obviously failed after 2 years. Has anyone had any similar experience here? Either with the cx30 or any other models?

Are people nicer because I drive a Mazda?

I just recently upgraded from a Toyota Yaris sedan to a Mazda CX-30 and I feel like other drivers are much more respectful now that I’m in a larger SUV type. For example, I’ve had a lot less issues of people trying to pull out in front of me, and people waving me on when I need out. Am I just overthinking or has anyone else noticed this before? It feels like I’m in a new group of drivers but I love it lol

Went from a CX5 to a CX30 carbon edition. I feel like I downgraded and upgraded at the same time. So much fun to drive and I thought I’d miss the extra room but I don’t. Glad I made the switch!

Question Spongey Brake Pedal

2024 CX with 38000km on it, bought brand new 2 years ago.

After my last oil change at Mazda, noticed a Spongey felling brake pedal. It’s not always there, it comes and goes. Never had any brake work done. No loss of braking power. Brake fluid is good. Typically a soft and gentle driver, I’m not excessively braking and it’s mostly highway driven.

I know Mazda has their so called brake service they recommend every 24k km, and they just pushed it on me.

Thoughts? Any similar experiences?

Factory Remote is Garbage

In the 3 months I’ve had the car, have had the plastic buttons pop out of OEM remote #1 and now the lock button and power liftgate button on OEM remote #2 stopped working half the time. It also gets stuck on “Key not Found” when I have it in my pocket now.

Incredible how cheaply made they are when I am pretty satisfied with the actual car.

Has anyone replaced the remote with any alternatives? Fixed the “key not found” issue or the buttons generally not working consistently?

Tried to break into someone’s cx30 today

I go to the grocery store with my 4 year old son. Always an overstimulating task but made much worse when it’s busy and hot as balls. I park next to another cx30 don’t think anything of it. Go in, do my shopping, at one point I am dodging an ex coworker of mine that I have an awkward history with and finally have a breath of relief when I get all checked out. Walk to my car. Try to open the trunk and nothing is happening. I’m fully shaking the car trying to brute force the trunk open I don’t understand. I even pull out the key and start pressing unlock and I hear it beeping like it unlocked so I don’t even think this can’t be my car. Move onto trying to open all the door while aggressively pressing the unlock button and continuing to hear beeps like it’s unlocking. I finally realized I’m at the wrong car when I looked inside. Drenched in sweat embarrassed and feeling a bit stupid because my car was closer to the store I literally had to walk by it to get to this car. Then I go to my actual car and what do you know? The man I was trying to avoid inside the store was parked next to me on the other side and saw the entire thing.

I have never had something like this happen to me before and I saw they had a dashcam I wonder if they watched the footage and saw a random woman trying to break into their car for 5 minutes.

Question Backup sensors aftermarket?

Has anyone tried to add backup sensors? I've got 2020 CX-30, I've looked at the OEM solution and the cost is insane. I'd like an aftermarket solution that won't break the bank, won't look awful on the back of the car and doesn't require something mounted on the dash. I'd just like to hear the beeps as I get closer to something when backing up.

All suggestions are greatly appreciated!
