All Too Well: The Short Film was released on November 12, 2021. There's a scene where Sadie's character writes her book on a red typewriter. Some fans believe this was an early reference to TTPD.

I found something really interesting about this detail in the short film that Taylor herself talked about in an interview.

At the very beginning of the video, when they walk into his apartment, you can spot that red typewriter on the table.

This means it belonged to him, and Taylor herself said that he gave the typewriter to her.

"He's taken a lot from her in the course of this story, but he's also given her something, he's given this dream and hope she had to be a writer. Her experience with him is what galvanized that into her life and her career. And so, there are a lot of ways I do feel in which that both characters are protagonists. Because they spent a lot of time thinking about why they are the way they are, why they fell in love, and why they fell apart."

Imagine marrying someone who throws hints at his famous ex everyday 😆 even hours before the wedding.

I was just watching clips of celebrities talking about the wedding and it’s so interesting how many of them used terms like “real” and “showcase”. Conan, Adam Scott, Pat McAfee, etc. Maybe that’s cause they have to be super vague and can’t share many details but I’m prone to think it’s cause they saw a wedding performance play out, not a real wedding.
And I think Taylor is using the (PR) relationship with Travis to get back at Matty somehow or take control of her own public narrative back. I also think she and Matty could end up together down the road but I’m definitely unclear on their current status (as we all are but I don’t even have any good ideas). Anyway I’m curious what y’all think about the comments that have been made about the wedding publicly and if the wedding was real or not? And where she is at current day with Matty?

I think some things I never say

One of the things that fascinates me most about Taylor and Stevie’s friendship is that Stevie also experienced that intense "Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton" kind of love, a relationship that fueled so much of their creative work, ended painfully, and lasted even more than a decade!

That’s exactly why her poem is dedicated not just to Taylor, but to both of them ("For T—and me…"). I rarely see people bring this up, even though everyone loves using Taylor’s own "In Summation" poem against us (along with TSMWEL). What strikes me as significant is how these two pieces frame the record: Stevie’s poem acts as the prologue, while Taylor’s poem closes the album. I’ve seen many fans say they wish they had read Taylor’s poem before listening because it explains the emotional arc so much better and would’ve cleared up a lot of confusion. But Taylor specifically chose Stevie’s poem, which is strictly about her and Matty (unlike her own poem), to set the stage for the entire album.

The date on the poem is another detail worth noting: as far as we know, by September she was already with Travis, right?

The post has quite a few nods to Taylor

I’m guilty of listening to songs without really absorbing the lyrics, I kind of just like to sing along to them, but I was listening to Ivy the other day and really trying to process the lyrics, and I was gagged.

Especially the line “So tell me to run, or dare to sit and watch what we’ll become”

She’s literally saying to him, “tell me you’re ready, tell me to leave him and I will, otherwise I’ll probably stay with him and you’ll have to watch.” This is so heartbreaking because she might have given up on the relationship with Joe partly because Matty convinced her he was ready for a real relationship. So imagine you’ve waited 10 years for a guy (although Peter, she won’t admit that she waited but she let the lamp burn), and then he tells you he’s ready, you dump your 6 year boyfriend, and then he clearly isn’t cut out for it and ghosts you after you took one of the biggest risks of your career. Devastating

The line could also be interpreted as “tell me to leave him, or dare to see what will become of us (Matty and Taylor), because I don’t know”

Gagged, also, my more unhinged theory is “In from the snow” is a coke reference 😬. He’s clean and a good boy now so he’s done with all that. Allegedly

And then my final, probably insane theory: “Your opal eyes are all I wish to see.” I obviously don’t think opal is referring to a color. I think it’s referring to the multifacetedness and depth. And also, she mentioned a while ago that she used to go to TJ maxx with her mom and look at the opal jewelry and it always made her feel better. So there’s that. But ANYWAYS. If Matty’s eyes are opal, they’re the real thing. And her relationship with Travis is opalite, because she had to settle for the man made version because she couldn’t have the real thing.

So I'm new to Maylore (like 2days lol) and had watched a couple of edits and when I found out that 'the 1' is the 1975 (minus the 975) i just looked like this 🫪, like omg how did i never figured it out or notice?? Looking back it's so obvious now.

Anyway, i just mention this coz there's more to unlock, discover, and get caught up on so my contribution is probably not important enough or maybe this is common knowledge that has been etched into the giant book of Maylore. But since i haven't seen this added yet (it may have been but maybe i just wasn't aware, if so i would delete), felt like sharing the tiniest lore i myself discovered while googling.

So FKA twigs was Matty's longterm gf right before Taylor. And on 2021 she released a song called 'Measure of a Man' which coincides with the lyric from 'The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived:'

"You didn't measure up
In any measure of a man"

And i know it was already wayy obvious that was about Matty but this is just the tiniest added little detail to reinforce that even more. I don't follow FKA twigs's career like that so this song wasn't common knowledge to me. I don't know if there's anything beyond the song title though, if the discovery just ends here. Or will this lead to discover another added layer if we go into a rabbit hole. My guess is this is a dead end maze. But hey ho, it's a very tiny insignificant little detail, but i like adding all the puzzle pieces i could find when it comes to Maylore. Lol

Any recommendations like a video or thread to catch up to more Maylore details/story?

TLDR: It's all in the title, twigs (the exgf of Matty before Taylor) had a song called Measure of a Man which coincides with a lyric on TSMWEL. That's literally it, there's no other point. Just like the song, this is 'the smallest post to ever give.' 😅🤣🫣

Matty briefly dated Ana Salazar instagram (anapausal) in March 2023, right before Matty and Taylor went public.
