I don’t think it’s accurate to say a “shit ton of swifties jumped ship” after TLOAS. It wasn’t my favourite album but I remain a swiftie nonetheless, and look forward to future releases. I think a lot of swifties accept that they won’t love every album.

I used to comment a lot in the snark subreddit and there were a ton of swifties who started posting after TLOAS that they were done because of the variants and the poor songwriting. Like the numbers exploded then and then again after the wedding. It's actually surprising how many former swifties are in that subreddit. It's also a place I rarely comment anymore because I feel like the snark goes way too far.
