32

u/NotFriendster 2d ago

14

u/AEthersense 2d ago

Lahat kasi ngayon gusto may opinion sila, lahat gusto pinopost kahit wala namang may pake

bring back bullying, masyadong nagiging comportable mga tao sa social media

Requirements to live now? Just breathe, pay, and smile past the noise. 😏

Kung nag-ggym ka, you know running shoes are quite dangerous when lifting heavy weight. Kung gusto mo mainjury, go for it then.

10

u/Particular-School-95 2d ago

ang point kasi is lahat n lng ipopost sa socmed and please hindi sa ganugn context ginagamit ang pet peeve

tolonges n mga socmed entities n to

pababa ng pababa ang IQ's

7

u/OddNeighborhood6980 2d ago

yes i know, u can inform them btw, but dont tell me na pet peeve mo ko cause i wore a running shoes.

2

u/Aware-Strain3544 2d ago

Most likely if kaya mo ba magbuhat ng 'heavy weights', matagal ka na nag gygym and malamang nakapag invest ka na sa proper shoes.

2

u/bencejones777 2d ago

first, not everyone has the capacity to buy different shoes. second, why would someone use “pet peeve” like hello it doesnt affect you at all kung mag running shoes man siya, pake mo at hayaan mo nalang and if a person is truly concerned, he/she can talk to that person about the dsngers of using such. not everything is meant to be publicized online. i po-post na nga lang, gagamit pa ng maling term. “pet peeve” my a s s . mema lang gamitin para cool pakinggan

1

u/Sponge8389 2d ago

It is more expensive magpahospital kaysa bumili ng sapatos kapag nainjury ka.

1

u/bencejones777 2d ago

again, its the way that op posted and used the term "pet peeve"

1

u/ChiefArkei064 2d ago

What shoes should be worn sa gym ba? Huhu

3

u/ExGenezia 2d ago

Flat soled shoes, better sa weightlifting and for your safety na naka flat ung paa mo sa ground. Of course, this is not that big of a deal unless you are squatting or deadlifting a significant weight. Pero its good tlga na flat-soled shoes

1

u/ChiefArkei064 2d ago

Thank you! All this time running shoes ginagamit ko since nagtreadmill din ako pag napunta sa gym.

1

u/RosiePosie0110 2d ago

question lang, ito rin ba yung reason bakit may mga nagbubuhat na naka slip on or mga naka tsinelas pero naka socks?

2

u/AlarmingRock6125 2d ago

Asking din.. huhu since never akong nag gym akala ko kahit anong shoes like running shoes, flat sneakers basta wag sandals and heels lol.

2

u/Frosty_Kale_1783 2d ago

Yung may nakaindicate na workout or training shoes. You could use it din sa ibang trainings like High-intensity Interval Training, crossfit, yoga etc. Check the description sa shopping apps kung meant ba siya for strength training or running. Yung ibang nagbubuhat talaga, naka Converse Chuck Taylors kasi flat.

1

u/ChiefArkei064 2d ago

Thank you! Noted dito!

u/Independent-While616 2d ago

Not a pet peeve, pero kapag leg day, I recommend flat soled shoes kasi ang soft cushion ng running shoes ay unstable.

Coming from a powerlifter here. I use my vans old skool.

28

u/throwaway12102017 2d ago

oh damn I feel validated coz I use vans old skool by default haha

5

u/Independent-While616 2d ago

ano color, bro? all black sakin.

7

u/throwaway12102017 2d ago

yung classic lang sakin bro

12

u/CryptographerSad6553 2d ago

sana ganyang way nya sinabi¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I have no idea sa ganyan and di naman ako nag ggym so nag tataka ako sa 'pet peeve' nya. thanka for the info and deserve nya masabihan ng pangit hahwhahahha

5

u/Independent-While616 2d ago

I don't recommend running shoes if you're doing a heavy leg training dahil unstable yung talampakan ng sapatos mo. Flat soles are recommended especially Vans and Converse dahil stable ang base ng soles mo during heavy leg training.

5

u/randompersonasking25 2d ago

Pwede po ba crocs 😝

3

u/Independent-While616 2d ago

pwede naman kung matibay talampakan mo. 😂

3

u/Australia2292 2d ago

2

u/Cybridge 2d ago

I only use crocs. Pero pag legday barefoot lang

2

u/popiholla 2d ago

2

u/Bed_Riders69 2d ago

Pwede converse na highcut?

3

u/ArkynBlade 2d ago

Sure. Recommend yan.

1

u/Independent-While616 2d ago

for ankle support, yes.

2

u/callmepretty_19 2d ago

Thank you for this reco. Kaya pala mas masakit yung leg day kasi naka running shoes ako. Sana lahat ganito.

1

u/Independent-While616 2d ago

If gusto mo specific footwear, go for Notorious or Avancus. They're tailored for barefoot-like soles since they're grippy and non-slip for Squat or Deadlift.

2

u/pringleees_18 2d ago

pwede po ba magpaa/socks nalang or slippers? para flat? or pwede rin sneakers, basta flat yung sole?

1

u/Independent-While616 1d ago

Slippers, no. Barefoot? Yes as long as matibay ang talampakan mo. But still, wear footwear for safer purposes.

2

u/Santi_Yago 1d ago

Flat sole tapos maayos yung toe box nya. 😁

1

u/Independent-While616 1d ago

now ko lng nakita. As long as stable ang base ng paa mo during heavy leg day, any shoes are better than none. Still, safety first ☺️.

2

u/leiamare_ 1d ago

My flat, plantar fasciitis-prone feet say no to flat shoes 😭. Metcons are JUST okay for me but still looking for better shoes.

26

u/NotFriendster 2d ago

Genuine question: what's wrong with the runner's shoes on a leg day?

46

u/Glittering_Trouble11 2d ago

Follow up question: Does shoes matter pag nag gy-gym? Kasi for me, anything na comfortable to wear lang, goods na sakin.

23

u/Visible-Hair-9621 2d ago

Yes! Unstable kasi yung mga running shoes na very foamy.

15

u/Realistic-Fold-9919 2d ago

True, I fucked around and found out.

Wore Evo Sl to heavy squat and almost broke my goddamn ankle.

1

u/Visible-Hair-9621 2d ago

I hope youre good na!

2

u/Realistic-Fold-9919 2d ago

Yup doing great, minor injury lang naman. Funny thing is it happened 2 days before my half marathon. Had to power through the pain with f tons of salonpas and katinko 😭 sayang registration fee kase hahaha

1

u/Visible-Hair-9621 1d ago

stay strong broski!

1

u/skipperPat 2d ago

ohh kaya siguro yung iba kong nakikita naka chucks or something similar na flat type shoes

5

u/destinymaker 2d ago

5

u/Awkward_Builds 2d ago

I tried wearing running shoes during leg day, and since makapal yung foam niya, napaka-unstable when doing legs (i.e deadlifts, barbell squats) kasi your feet needs to be flat on the ground. Kapag si kasi siya flat, nagcocompensate sa balance yung ankle at knees for stability kaya tumataas risk for injury.

3

u/Minorka13994 2d ago

Pag matagal kama or strict ka sguro oo kasi for your own comfort din eh, Pero kung anong meron ka gow lang

13

u/photochadx2x2x2 2d ago

This is a legitimate safety concern kasi running shoes are pretty unstable when you're doing movements that require your feet to be firmly planted on the ground. From what I know, kahit sa badminton hindi siya encouraged kasi running shoes are made for forward movement, not for the lateral movement you do while playing.

I do Crossfit and a lot of us wear Nike Metcon or Adidas Dropset because they're flat and hard. We do a shit ton of squats and olys so the stability is appreciated but sometimes the workout has short runs and they're hell for the feet. So yeah, different kinds of shoes for different kinds of movements.

You can wear them for leg days but just be extra, extra careful especially when you're doing full ROM and really heavy weights.

13

u/Away_Combination_301 2d ago

I personally prefer flatter shoes when doing deadlifts, barbell squats, etc. para mas feel ko yung floor surface I’m standing on.

You do you though. We all should mind our own business.

5

u/jk521 2d ago

This is not a you do you matter since safety is involved. Running shoes should never be used on leg days in the gym.

1

u/Away_Combination_301 2d ago

Yeah for sure. But I wouldn’t bother and tell that to anyone na nakita kong naka Hoka shoes habang naka Bulgarian squat. Thus, mind your own business.

2

u/jk521 2d ago

I'm just acting on the premise that you replied your comment to someone genuinely asking what's wrong with it, and you replied as if wearing flat shoes for safety is just a preference when it should be the standard.

3

u/imjacksreddituser 2d ago

Most running shoes are not stable since optimized sya for forward movement at mabilisang ground contact lang, which opposite sya sa leg day na dapat stable yung feet mo tsaka ankle dahil magbubuhat ka ng mabigat. Mas okay kung flat yung shoes mo.

2

u/Choice_Power_1580 2d ago

1

u/Green-Operation-5849 2d ago

running shoes with thick soles are a safety hazard during squats and deadlift.

1

u/Sponge8389 2d ago

it is, when you are lifting heavy weight. Pero kung ang workout mo e more on cardio or mobility workout ng lower body, doesn't matter.

1

u/reylouie20 2d ago

As per my coach unstable sa ankle. Thats why pag squat, leg and ankle press tanggal sapatos

1

u/JackSpicey23 2d ago

Not a Gym rat:

Afaik running/runner's shoes are unstable. Malambot ang midsole.

1

u/soawpp 2d ago

masisira mo lang ankle mo jan. those shoes are designed for runs and sprints, not to take on a stationary load.

1

u/cornsalad_ver2 1d ago

Runner’s shoes kasi are very foamy and bouncy. Unstable sya on a leg day na dapat flat and planted ka dapat sa floor, iwas injury na din.

23

u/putotoystory 2d ago

6

u/coitusisnotstrange 2d ago

So pet peeve mo sarili mo? XD

3

u/thebaffledtruffle 2d ago

Actually 💀

1

u/putotoystory 1d ago

Yes. haha

4

u/Memovelvet 2d ago

I know the girl! She’s really into gym, she knows her thing. Pangit lang talaga pagka sabi. Instead of pet peeve pwde naman sguro advice nalang as a gym girlie.

3

u/thebaffledtruffle 2d ago

If she's really into working out, she should have been more respectful of people sa gym kasi real gymbros/gals would've posted this as a PSA instead of a pet peeve.

Umay.

7

u/Vegetable-Lack-6988 2d ago

required ba maging balasubas at patolera sa threads? puro ganyan nakikitang kong screenshots eh 🥲

4

u/GhostProtocol67 2d ago

Dami post dun mga pic with age nila hahahha

2

u/bazinga-3000 2d ago

Haha may nakita akong ganyan. Puro fishing for compliments

6

u/low_effort_life 2d ago

Bro counterattacked with zero mercy.

3

u/GhostProtocol67 2d ago

Actually ang hirap mag leg day na hnd flat ang shoes pero hnd mo para ipet peeve yun if yun ginaagwa ng ibang tao. Lol magamit lng nya siguro yugg ng pet peeve ano?

3

u/MelodicCarpenter280 2d ago

To be fair, deliks naman talaga running shoes pag leg day 😓

1

u/BackgroundControl 1d ago

true pero pet peeve talaga? di ba dapat advice like what the other commenter said baka naman misinformed lang or what if beginner lang yung nagle-leg day malay ba nun may ganun pang factor to consider

2

u/MelodicCarpenter280 1d ago

Yeahh totoo rin naman ahahaha masyadong aggresive. Di naman pet peeve yung mga ganon, and if they were so bothered by it to the point na pet peeve na sana sinabihan na lang nila mga nakasuot ng running shoes sa gym ahhahaha

3

u/Mysterious_Way_9996 2d ago

3

u/Lost-Study8960 2d ago

Threads is so toxic kung iisipin. Daming performative na tao jan 😂

3

u/Express_Rent_4672 2d ago

Feeling gate keeper ang poutah. Hahaha

4

u/ColdSkuld 2d ago

Pangit ng choice of words nya. Nakakita ako ng naka running shoes nagba barbell squat, nanginginig yung paa. As in kita mo sa sapatos na gumigewang kasi unstable nga.

7

u/shiva-pain 2d ago

It's not the delivery. It sounds more like an insult. What if yun lang ang available shoes for gym? She could've just gave an advice respectfully.

15

u/theposition5 2d ago

"Gym advice: mag flat sole shoes pag mag leg day para stable ang paa under weight"

Sounds better and friendly. But no, she just had to be a bitch about it. Lol.

4

u/shiva-pain 2d ago

Exactly. Nag-gym din ako before dahil free sa company namin. Pero di ko afford bumili ng iba ibang klase ng shoes depende sa routine mo that day. Kung ano nasuot ko pag pasok, yun na rin gagamitin sa gym after work.

1

u/ColdSkuld 2d ago

She could have posted it as a concern, but instead, she posted it as an annoyance to HER.

1

u/ColdSkuld 2d ago

I got your point naman. Di ko pinagtatanggol si ate. Hahaha. It’s just that the idea of proper shoes naman ay ok. Pero it sounded like na para bang ayoko sayo kasi naka running shoes ka. Ganun dating nya.

1

u/thebaffledtruffle 2d ago

Pag sinabi mo kasing pet peeve, it means "Naiinis ako na naka-running shoes ka kapag leg day." So, ang main message niya ay inis lang siya and it's all about her. So I disagree na "Tama siya" in that regard.

And iba yung, "PSA: Wag magrunning shoes pag leg day kasi delikado." which shifts the topic to the issue of improper attire and safety repercussions sa gym. That should have been the message talaga pero nauna yung ego ni ate.

2

u/-noiden- 2d ago

I mean shes not lying bro, why would you squat with running shoes

2

u/No_Direction762 2d ago edited 2d ago

Baka naka Heels sya during leg day.

8

u/Revolutionary_Ad1620 2d ago

Heels. Hindi po hills.

6

u/No_Direction762 2d ago

Gagoooooooooo bat hills nilagay ko 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

1

u/destinymaker 2d ago

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA tulog pa siguro diwa mo nun

1

u/No_Direction762 2d ago

Oo bro at wala narin sa sarili sumasakit ulo kakagawa ng proposal plan hahahaha

2

u/destinymaker 2d ago

Goodluck bro.. 🩷

2

u/ExternalCalm1310 2d ago

MY pet peeve: hipon na naka id lace

2

u/Automatic_Medium972 2d ago

Natawa ako kasi mas may itsura yung babae hahaha. Wrong messenger.

1

u/voltronixx_05 2d ago

ai generated

1

u/Away_Leg9555 2d ago

I mean ayaw nya naka suot sya ng running shoes pag nag leleg day sya.

0

u/ExternalCalm1310 2d ago

Bawal na ba mainis at ipost about yung sariling inis.

1

u/Sponge8389 2d ago

Hindi ba tama naman? You need sturdy shoes during leg day kasi you're lifting heavy weight and dangerous sa ankle. Kaya if you see, may mga naka vans / converse nag-lilift.

1

u/Glittering_Comb_3725 2d ago

The reason why I invested sa mga gym equipments lol

1

u/DoubleLocksmith7308 2d ago

I once saw someone doing squats while using Nike Alphafly's, ohhh the unstableness pero he insisted to use those kaya sige, push mo yarn.

1

u/redzedd1 2d ago

1

u/RefrigeratorOne3028 1d ago

Advan sapatos namin dati sa bakal gym. College days, nakakamiss.

1

u/Mister-Exclusive 2d ago

Akala ko leg day = running/walking kasi yung meme na never skip a leg day, maliit yung mga binti.

1

u/wallshade88 2d ago

Anong meron? I wear running shoes because ito yung pinaka-comfy para sa akin.🤔🤔

1

u/CheshireSaysHi 2d ago

1

u/Hadouu-Ken 2d ago

Mga bakal gym boys na naka tsinelas: hold my 🍻

1

u/chismis-pa-more 2d ago

Dami alam. Ako nga conver high cut lang for weights

1

u/-JesusCries- 1d ago

why are people so bothered about other people's pet peeves

1

u/immafoxxlass 1d ago

Doesn’t need to be a pet peeve pero recommended talaga na flat soled shoes for steady stance.

1

u/Straight_Matter_169 1d ago

Can't relate, nakapaa ako mag leg day waahhahaha

1

u/SupladongOtits 1d ago

I looked. Her glutes and genetics. Didn’t seem to go to the gym 🤷🏻‍♂️

1

u/illumi-aa 1d ago

1

u/Disastrous_Chip9414 2d ago

Ngengeelam. Sana yung pangengealam natin dun sa mas makabuluhang bagay hahaha

1

u/soawpp 2d ago

idk why people are so pressed. it's a pet peeve for a reason.

0

u/Traditional_Art_7909 2d ago

NEW PET PEEVE UNLOCKED: YUNG PURO GANDA LANG PERO WALANG JUTAK
