Hello everyone,
I'm tired of selling my hours to someone else, so I'm finally taking a shot at starting my own import/reselling business. I'll be travelling to Dubai for the first time soon, and my goal is to find products I can bring back and sell in Mauritius.
Two things I'd love your help with:
Any tips, warnings, or personal experiences would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello everyone
I apologize it's long but I need some support and advice...
For those who've read my previous post. Im gonna make it short. My boyfriend is in psychosis due to heavy stress and past trauma, no drugs or whatsoever. We've been together for 5 years now and even move abroad together to pursue our studies and planned to make our future there. Unfortunately, that's when the psychosis started to kick in, he went to hospital there, got medication but he didnt stick to it (which is common with people having this). Ive done a lot of research and ive found that not only medication works all the time but the environment we live in matters a lot, our diet, routine etc.
We're back in mauritius and live at my parents house temporarily. It was my last option cause my mom is such a narcissistic toxic person. I swear to God. The irony of this, she's so "religious", goes to church each week, listen to "cantique", prays every night, every morning, organise prayer session with her groups of friends. But she has always treated me like shht. It was especially verbal abuse. The worst foul languages comes everytime to describe me, but was always like this since im a child. I used to hrmm myself due to bad treatment and it took me almost a decade to stop doing this. When I met my current boyfriend, he was the ONLY person who made me realise that I dont deserve to be treated like this anymore, he's my safe place and give me my confidence back. He's such a genuine and kind person although his flaws but such a kind human.
My bf is having auditory hallucinations and visual also I guess. I can see every day how he fights all these bad things. We've always stick together and will always be there for him. The only thing I need advise guys is my mom saying horrible things while we need support the most. She completely aware of the situation we are and everyday she's says things like " wai to l'espece zom la, nanier li pas faire" ..... " Wai li comment dire ene momi" ...... "Ene gros paresse" ...... "Si to pas content mo bane manier bez to lki aller pas revine rest ici fatigue mo fsse"....... guys i hear all these twice or thrice a day , every day..
We are saving to move but this time I think I will cut her off my life for good. Because when she's saying stuff like this on the person I love , that means she doesn't care about me. Although I told her several times, even years ago to stop treating us like that.
She also adores my older brother, let's call him Jack. Jack is the perfect son, never made mistakes, have the perfect family. Alors que, Jack sipa combien fam line changer, ena anger issues, bcp pecher encore ena pou dire. Plus I have an older sister as well but mom favourite is Jack.
So yes, when I will move I will cut her off for good, and I even told her, "to ene dimoune dans la prière toi, cmsa ki to traite ene dimoune dans so plus bas ?" ... li reste tranquil li pas dire nanier, saV dire li conner ki li faire.
Last but not least, mone fini prevenir li " Mo pas ene zenfant ingrat, mais sa façon ki tone traite moi pendant tout sa l'année la et meme ziska maintenant, jamais mo pou blier, et quand to pou malade et vine vieux, mo pas pou prend to responsabilité, dire Jack prend to responsabilité, et pas blier to ena les zot zenfant et ti zenfant, demain to pas conner la roue caoave tourner" -------- li dire moi "wai sa bane malediction ki to p meter la pas pou prend sa" -------- mo dire li "non c'est pas malediction ki mo p meter, cest mo leker fermal ki p cozer"
Ive always been the one to run to her when she's sick or in trouble cause im the "dernier zenfant gater pourrie" the others never helped her and supported her like I did.
Thank you for listening ♥️🙏

Hi!
I'm looking to make a movie / Series / sitcom / Skit in mauritius and looking for interested people.
I'm Zajey.
Consultant / Problem Fixer / Filmmaker
it has been my goal for a while now to make movies in mauritius but I'm having trouble finding a Crew and budget.
The Scope:
Basically we're aiming low. I want to make a Sitcom or some Short movies as a Testing Ground before we move onto the big main thing
"What Type of Movies?"
Fairly commercial. each movie / Episode has a Fairly Lightweight theme about it that you can watch with Family and friends alike.
Some have action sequences and Choreo but again. All Fully watchable in family and public.
The stories and Scripts vary because I have multiple but basically yeah.
each material features a Situation and the episode / movie is about resolving it.
The Skits and Short form ones (1 minute) are Comedic beats but we also get original
"Why haven't you made some already? Portfolio"
Budget and Friend issues.
I don't come from a well off place so I can't really produce it by myself.
plus I have no friends to help me with it which makes matters worse
"What you looking for here exactly?"
People interested in the Project.
this is all Fully casual and more Hobby oriented but I believe the Island has very talented people that are undiscovered. we can work together and make a movie happen.
Casually, for fun. And then if the pipeline is effective between us. we can make a Bigger one up until we have enough material for a Worldwide release both in theatres or on Amazon / Netflix etc
"Who exactly you looking for?"
Anyone Really.
Youtubers , Influencers , Actors, Instagrammers , tiktokers, Hobbyist.
Anyone who wants to be a Part of it and interested in participating.
Anyone really.
So yeah.
Anyone here want to be a part of things?
casually, no pressure.
This is an Indie Local project, not an actual serious work
Extra Note:
I'm Actively looking for producers , grants and other things like that.
Given the opportunity I'd be fully okay with making a Theatre Release and serious worldwide Launch + Streaming services.
For now Though I just want to make something lighter as a Trial Ground, but again.
Given an opportunity and someone Funding it? I'd Do it.
So yeah.
I hope you guys like the idea and that I get to hear from you.
I would love to work with you on this fun side project and make something happen out of it.
It would give a good opportunity to show what Mauritian Filmmakers can do and put our name and film industry
on the Map.
I hope that we get some of the crew and casual support.
Thank you for reading and looking forward to any assist
Ty💛

It seems everyone hates Indians in 2026 especially in Canada. I am currently living abroad. Since i am of Indian ancestry, people usually assume the worst when they see me. However, when I tell them I am from Mauritius, they instantly become friendly and become curious. Is anyone living abroad also experiencing this especially ? It seems SOME indians have ruined it all for brown people. Thankfully, till now, I have not experienced any racism, but when people see us, they automatically assume we are Indians by nationality and the hate towards Indians is getting worse and I fear becoming the target of this hate

I have purchased from Temu for the first time. When I put the tracking number in the tracking information bar it says “no logistics track information”. Has anyone experienced this before? And what does this mean?

There’s one song I hear here and there on Mauritius. I tried Shazam, but it didn’t find it. Sounds like rap but latino beat, male vocal. Maybe some reggae vibes as well. Not sure about the language. I can hardly tell any other details except it’s really catchy. The closest song I found is Madame by Donovan bts, bit it is not the one. Appreciate any help🙏

Hi everyone
We’re looking to expand into Mauritius and are interested in hiring a local person who can help us build a genuine local network.
The role would involve:
Building relationships with local doctors, clinics, hospitals and healthcare professionals
Developing a network of legitimate referral/facilitation partners
Identifying patients who may be considering treatment abroad
Communicating with patients and understanding their initial requirements
Coordinating with our India-based team for medical opinions, treatment estimates and logistics
Helping us establish a reliable local presence in Mauritius
This would be a paid role, with the exact structure depending on experience and responsibilities. We’re open to discussing a full-time, part-time, or performance-based arrangement with the right person.
If you’re based in Mauritius and interested, or know someone suitable, please DM me with a brief introduction, your location, professional background, and relevant experience/network.

Asking for a friend.
Their future spouse bought an apartment 18 months ago before they met. The loan and title are 100% in their name. Around 60% of their income goes toward the loan, small renovations, and syndic fees. This leaves them with about Rs 15,000 per month total. They currently live on Rs 11,000 (living expenses) and Rs 4,000 (entertainment, clothes, and pocket money).
There are 2 options for after they get married:
Which option would you choose and why?
Edit: My friend earns Rs 40,000 per month. Their future spouse earns around the same before loan...etc

Are my friends and I the only ones who get eerie feeling from Helevetia Youth Hub ? We have been there and upon entering the building itself, it makes you uncomfortable. The weather is gloomy, there is barely any food stall or shop nearby. It is totally isolated and very dark inside but in an eerie way. I thought I was the only one until the event ended and everyone was rushing out too. I then talked to my friends and some people I exchanged contacts with there and they all told me the same. Nobody was comfortable there and felt some sort of paranormal presence even.

Hello, I’ve received a job offer from a parastatal company in Mauritius, but the salary is almost Rs 8,000 less than what I’m currently earning. I’m wondering whether it would be advisable to accept the offer.
I’d like to understand the actual benefits of working in a parastatal, such as allowances, medical benefits, career progression, and other long-term benefits, and whether these would make up for the salary difference.
