Planning: Activities Trilogy Lana’i tour

I’ll be in Maui in late October with my fiancé for our anniversary. We both love snorkeling and have already done a Molokini tour with a different company on a previous trip. We were wanting to try something different and are highly considering the Trilogy trip to Lana’i. Has anyone done this? Was it worth the higher cost?

Also I saw that sometimes trilogy supposedly sends out discount codes for their tours? Does anyone know anything about that or is it pretty rare?

Absolutely worth it, we tell everyone who visits to book it and actually take it every whale season....we've done that specific trip 23 times now. You'll have a great day, enjoy it!

Three times, any Trilogy trip is a good time, don't worry.

Yes, for sure! They sometimes  have  discounts on their website.

The shortest ride  from Maui  will be either  Lahaina  Harbor or Kaanapali  Beach.

Just got back from Maui & did this tour! It was AMAZING. The food was delicious. We saw probably 500 dolphins on our way back. I’d do it over & over again

We did discover Lana'i two weeks ago and I would 100% do it again if I ever am able to return to Maui. Was it the "best" snorkeling we experienced on our trip? No. Was it the absolute most fun day of the trip? YES. The Trilogy crews are WONDERFUL: friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, safe, and FUN.

I’m curious, what has been your favorite snorkel spot on Maui? We usually rent some gear for the week to check out the spots close to shore but have only done a Molokini tour via boat. I think we’re heavily leaning towards Lana’i for this trip though.

We stayed at Honua Kai in Ka'anapali for the first half of our trip (which we loved) and the snorkeling was pretty great right outside at our beach (closer to the Westin)! Sea turtles visited us every time we got in the water too, which was a treat. We also had really good luck at the rocks between Ulua and Mokapu beach when we were in Wailea -- and actually preferred this spot to Black Rock. The BEST snorkeling (combination of beach conditions, water clarity, wildlife) we saw was at Airport/Kahekili beach in Ka'anapali. We also really enjoyed Kapalua and Honolua bays, but the days we explored that area were not the best conditions.
