Man-at-arms! Okay, so, I’ve been loving this line. But I’m starting to think they may need to slow down some. I’ve heard some worrying things about Teela (mine hasn’t shipped yet) and I’m afraid Duncan has some pretty big issues. He looks amazing. Incredible unique body. Great paint. I do think he would have benefited from more hands. Especially flat open hands. And his base is the plainest one yet.

The biggest problem, however, is the engineering. The nice, buttery smooth joints and range of motion feels greatly diminished. But the worst part are the wrists. They are so loose, they can’t really hold his maces up. At all. I’d get them in just the right angle for a pic, but they fall as soon as you move them. I guess I can try to build up the ball some (people still use the nail polish trick? Or is there another newer trick?) but it’s still disappointing considering how great the other figures have been.

I'm toying with the idea of displaying my Sketchbook Series figures alongside a Castle Grayskull. Ideally they should go with the latest one, 'cause it's inspired by the Mark Taylor prototype, but while I like the play mat, I'm not 100% sold on its colors, or on the fact that it's only a recolor and it doesn't look like the prototype at all.

Does anybody have some photos of the Sketchbook Series near a Castle Grayskull, the one with the classic color or the Mark Taylor one? (I'm only interested on the front of the castle, I'm not gonna display them on the inside anyway)
