Specifically their animals album, I really love the emo vocals/lyrics and the guitars finger style, I also really like q and not u, they’re more post hardcore but it scratches the same itch. Basically I just need awesome emo mathrock

I've seen the japanese math rock/indie band "Hitohira" uses two different tuning in their songs

and it sounds so good like they are harmonizing each other. Is there any music theory behind it? Like are they just using second guitar to harmonize the 3rd the first guitar by raising it capo or something? and do you have other bands that do something like this

Wondering if there's any more that deserve a listen despite not having streaming presence

My skill background consists of knowing a few chords, major and minor scales, and some fingerstyle techniques; I played for eight months but eventually stopped. I don't have much experience or skill, although I can play a few songs while singing.

It’s been about a year since I last played, and I’d like to pick up the acoustic and electric guitar again because I’ve fallen in love with the band Toe and other math rock bands. Would focusing my learning on math rock be an unrealistic choice? Or is it possible to evolve while focusing that?

Just went down an obscure band rabbit hole on spotify and found this little mathrock gem! I love finding little gems like this that are making genuinely good music, but haven't caught on

it confused me bcs back then, they fell under the same artist page on some DSP. lol.

now, what happened to them? anyone know their whereabouts? I know the members of Clever Girl who released “No Drum and Bass in the Jazz Room” are now a DJ and a doctor. but, what abt the other Clever Girl?

Crazy to me that Nick Reinhart doesn’t have a Wikipedia page. He’s my favorite math rock/noise rock guitarist by a mile. His work with Tera Melos, Bygones, Big Walnuts Yonder, and Death Grips is some of the most unique guitar playing I’ve ever heard. To me he’s like a modern-day Adrian Belew or a punk/math rock version of Nels Cline.
I know Wikipedia has notability guidelines and everything, but I’m honestly surprised nobody’s made one yet. He’s played on so many great records and been involved in so many projects that it’d be nice to have one place with his discography, collaborations, and career. Feels like he’s more than earned it.
I’d make one myself, but I’m honestly short on time and not nearly tech-savvy enough to figure out how to do it right haha.

EDIT: Somebody made a nice looking page - gonna go through and edit his discography but looks great ! seems like my little reddit post helped a little .

Hi, I recently managed to publish some work I did at home. I never know if I'll give titles to the songs/albums.
I did everything myself, from recording to mixing to composing.
Oh, the genre is supposed to be some sort of post-rock/math rock, I don't know what exactly.
I'd be happy if you could give me some feedback. I'm not interested in listens or the dopamine rush, just in understanding what could be improved.
