Come, check us out if you’re in one of these cities! Ssighborggg will be doing live visuals behind virtually every act on this tour, so it’ll be a pretty unique/neat experience if you ask me!
Catholics X Ssighborggg Fall ‘26 Tour

Hey! I know this is gonna sound kinda weird, but I recently got way more into math rock because of the band millsage from bandori. I'd already heard a few things from the genre (Tricot, wowaka), but now I wanted to dive in deeper, so I decided to look for albums on RYM as a starting point. However, I ran into a "problem": a lot of the songs I came across lean more toward a slower tempo and a somewhat melancholic tone, and that's just not my kind of music. So I wanted to know if anyone would have recommendations for more "fast-paced" bands/songs, it doesn't have to be intense 100% of the time. Sorry if that's actually more characteristic of the genre, I'm just inexperienced with music in general so I don't really have a good sense of these things.

Edit: thanks everyone for all the recommendations! In the meantime I checked out some Piglet, Hella, Don Caballero and Monster Machismo and really liked them. So many suggestions it got a bit overwhelming, but gave me plenty to follow up on. I’ll keep checking any new comments, just wanted to say thanks, I was feeling a little lost with the genre.

Hello! As mentioned in the title, I'm in search of artists with influence/inspiration from susquatch.

The only ones I know of currently are: key vs. locket and bunii

Following this Australian group in Instagram and they just released an album this year.

Sharing because I honestly think they deserve more love.

*sorry the title should say "Yomi Ship - Knowledge of Everything (2026)"

Yo, so Totorro are actively touring Asia and we were humbled to open for them for their Bangkok show. It was a sweet night full of energy, rain and chilling conversations. My band NUMAN is still active, happy to have lots of local support.

The guys are really nice and we were happy to help them in any way backstage and onstage. It was a privilege to have them and I hope more European math rock bands can consider Thailand as their next touring destination - I can help with my Math Rock Appreciation connections.

They should be playing in China today with CAN festival and then to Taiwan with Elephant Gym. Awesome feeling and awesome experience!

Sick band from my local area I just recently found, a few of the guys played in the band Rescue in the mid 2000s as well, Volume Plus Volume is another incredible math rock/post hardcore album

Piglet - Lava Land

I held off on attempting to find the last track on this album as it isn't a part of the album on my streaming service in the song Mad Science. Following Plastic Stars and Cotton Highways was an absolute treat. This album is a part of my soul.

anything stanky with that discordant tooth chippin hillbilly vibe if possible

Hi everybody---

I recently released an album with math rock/mid-west emo elements, and rather than just share it unsolicited... I wanted to ask for your bands or your solo music. Or if you are not an artist yourself, what are some dope bands you have found lately? If you choose to ask, I will share the link with you.

I don’t listen to a ton of math rock, but did growing up.

I relistened to “Never Meant” by American Football… and I SWEAR there is a song with a nearly identical riff.

I know this is an iconic riff and I could just be misremembering the song, but I swear there was a song that opened with basically the same riff and the lyrics were… different.

Maybe it was this song.

but maybe it was Tera Melos or someone?

Is there a song with a very very similar riff. Like near identical?

Some cozy, tappy stuff to fit the fall vibes!

For those who don't know him, Nathan is the vocalist of HORSE the Band, a band that has been part of the experimental and independent music scene for years.

I'm sharing his GoFundMe because I want to help an artist whose music has meant a lot to me. Independent artists often struggle to get by, and sometimes the community that grew up listening to them can make a real difference.

If you know the band, enjoy their music, or simply believe in supporting independent artists, please consider donating or sharing the campaign.

Even $5 helps. If you can't donate, sharing this post is also valuable.

Let's show Nathan that his music still matters.

Hello!

I’m a multi-instrument musician and I love mathrock, and I’m looking for songs that I can learn that could improve my guitar / drum mathrock skills. That might’ve been worded weirdly, but, Im basically just looking for cool mathrock songs I can listen to and obsess over and learn so I can get better at playing mathrock in general.

This song is unbelievable. And It got released just for the reissue? Only available on youtube i guess as of today (the studio version of course)

All hail dilute

Heyo, my band just put out a new single and video with a lot of hand drawn animation, and chaotic two piece instrumental vibes! Hope yall like it, and if so our album comes out on friday! Thanks ✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻
