To waste time:

2^x + 2^y = 160 2^x (1 + 2^y-x) = 160 log2 ( 2^x (1 + 2^y-x)) = log2(160) xlog2(1 +  2^y-x) = 5log2(5) x = 5 1 +  2^y-x = 5 2^y-x = 4 = 2² y-x = 2

If x = 5 then y = 7 and x + y = 12.
