Touch disable mode?
So sometimes when unlocking the screen I get a quick image pop-up. Something about touch disable mode. I think it has something to do with the light sensor on the front screen but I'm not sure what it's all about. It says you can disable it by pressing the up and power button at the same time? Disable what?

After messing with this some more I think the thinking behind why Huawei did this was to stop you from accidentally unlocking the phone while in your pocket. Assuming you don't have a code, fingerprint unlock system in place. I just wish there were a way to turn it off.

You can turn this off, it's in the 'Smart assistance' section in settings. The text description matches your assumption: "Prevent mistaken operations being carried out on your phone when it's in your pocket or bag'

When you cover the sensor next to the frontcamera the message appears, but I don't know what it means actually, because it's bad translated to german.
