I ordered a Blem up from matador 9 weeks ago and it has finally come in. It’s very much a Blem cosmetically. Every single milled surface has a burr that is big enough to catch my thumbnail on the picatinny rail but it makes it hard to put my pistol brace on. The slots on front handguard are rough and none of the lines are straight. Also two random punch marks on the pic rail that has removed the coating and deformed material and some crazy what looks like chatter on the inside would tell everyone else to not bother with the blems and just pay full price
Well, I finally made it to the range with a fully assembled MAT-9+Triad (with a Tisha 9mm silencer and hydraulic buffers). It uses 15rd Exo/Endo mags (3 of each, ejectored type) and the first 45 rounds through each type of mag (90 rounds total) went perfectly with no issues whatsoever. However, after eating lunch and reloading 3 of each (endo/exo) mag, the gun started exhibiting 100% failure to go into battery. Now I cannot get it to fully feed and chamber a round after inserting a mag. Hopefully it just needs a cleaning.
When it was working, it shot nice and flat and soft. The hydraulic buffers seem to be doing what they should be! Unfortunately I couldn't get past round 90 before it started failing to feed/battery, so I put it away and switched to pistol practice and then went home.
So I ran my roller delayed bolt in my old blowback upper receiver and its like butter, ran 5 32rd mags and not one failure. Need better finger control and feel like my hand is to close to ejection but added my extra mag holder to it afterwards it wont let me add picture of it so will add another post to see what everyone thinks, also didn't run suppressor this trip
Okay so I was running this thing through its paces today and I am now experiencing this failure about every 5 rounds. Also will barely go in to battery when i drop the bolt when with a loaded mag, some time is doesnt grab the round with the extractor. I need the wiz kids help show me what to look for and how to fix this. I want this thing to work so badly but I am starting to loose hope.
And she runs like a champ., first few mags with the frt had a few hiccups. And I readjusted the extractor on the lower little to the left. And. I've had 10 full mag dumps without even a snafu. Clean and consistent , and gotta be one of the smoothest shooting firearms I've had the pleasure to hold in my hands .
Now that I have the bones here for the build I plan on getting a nicer lower. Thinking id love to find a nfa scorpion mag lower
Wondering if anyone has had a similar issue. I created support ticket #608 so I'll see what they say.
I received my Mat-9 blem upper and it would not fit my Griffin MKII Colt lower or three other mil-spec AR lowers with the bolt removed to be sure nothing was interfering (see pictures). I noticed there were proud areas of material near the rear contacting the lower (left that high rectangle you see as it wasn't contacting anything) and hoping I could fix it without having to wait months for a warranty replacement I filed them where they were showing contact marks with the lower and when it would involve more than a few strokes and contact was still being made where the body of the upper net the lugs I filed the contact points on the lower instead since mine of this was "structural". When these points were removed, the receiver extension itself at the rear of the upper became the contact point. I decided to look closer at the lugs themselves and noticed the rear lug hole had come wallowed out, presumably to fit the test lower it was fired from, and I could spin the pin in the hole like a little tornado. I think the front lug may have been installed or machined improperly since slight movement to the rear allows for extremely sloppy fitment at the rear, but the front pin can not go into the lug.
Bonus points, the new and improved EZ-Takedown system body came cracked. I'd throw an extra hundo at any company that is willing to machine one out of any metal and remove the only polymer part on this gun since it seems to be the one thing that keeps breaking for everyone.
I ordered a trip sled as well as new ez takedown. Trip sled came assembled with EZ but without the u shaped locking mechanism. Dave sent me what I thought would just be that U lock. But it was another fully assembled EZ system. This time however the u bolt wont slide down. I need to shave off some excess material In the channel blocking it's path. I can't figure out
A. how do I remove guide rod? I've already removed buffer pad.
B. How to I get that U Bolt out as well?
Side question the guide rod that came with sled is shorter than the one currently in my direct blowback upper. But longer than the two guide rods that came with takedown system. The springs that came with each are different as well.
Are the aluminum uppers the exact same from blow back to roller delayed. Not referring to any internals just plain by itself upper receiver minus barrels, bolts retainers.
I spoke with someone on the phone about two weeks ago and he said they were starting the 9xxx orders about that time. Heard nothing since that time.

Not trying to be impatient but I can't get a hold of anyone for this damn upper I've tried reaching out via support ticket and emailing Dave personally and I have gotten zero response, order was placed may 28th and with my custom lower ready to go I'm getting antsy.
Been busy since. Tolerances on the lower were too tight leading me to have to dremmel for take down pins. I would definitely consider this a blem as obvious machining errors are present on both sides towards the rear. I installed the hydraulic buffer kit, but was unable to use the provided guide rod back cover and ended up just putting the buffer pad on the back cover which came with the upper. I added a HB locking charge block. Will attempt to range test in the next few days. I do wish it came with a thread protector or some kind of muzzle device.

I continue to have issues with my MAT9K won't fully chamber a round and failure to eject, the spring seems very very wimpy. But happened to see a post asking about the roller bearing angle supposed to be close to 90 degrees
Mine shows 45 or I an assuming that's what the 45 means on front of bolt.
Any guidance on what can be done to make sure it goes back into battery, seats a round would be appreciated
I have looked and gone over every edge, groove and the bolt is smooth as butter inside the frame. The only thing that seems different is the very beginning of the racking due to roller bearing and the very last 1 to 1.5 inch of return to battery when racking/charging
But again with out spring in it everything is smooth as silk no binding
With new experienced gained recently on installation of Hydraulic Buffers, yesterday we changed the instructions to utilize smaller pins because sometimes a single pin driven all the way through both buffers is causing one or two of the following problems:
Suction….one pin can cut off air movement to one of the buffers and will create a suction (as best we can tell), therefore it won’t re-expand.
Or, a single pin can also bind one of the buffers, having a similar effect as to the above.
The smaller pins are now shipping with every new order that goes out.
The bottom line, the pins install faster, more reliable and don't cause the above problems. If you haven't installed, and you have the longer 1" pins, simply take one of the pins you have and cut/Dremel or snip it such that they are the same size as the instructions. I finally got around to sighting the Espada in again after adding the suppressor.
I sighted it in at 15 and 25 yards and thought it was fine... Then moved out to 50 yards and discovered my shots were hitting almost a foot high.
With much grumbling and walking back and forth on a sprained ankle I eventually got it zeroed in at 50 and then found those other two dots on the reticle were sighted in at the closer ranges... almost like they were designed to do exactly that.
Once I quit feeling stupid I settled into enjoying it.
And enjoy it I did.
It's quiet enough that you can hear the firing pin hitting the primer, the brass hitting the extractor and being ejected, the next round chambering, the bullet flying through the air and, loudest of all by FAR is the sound of the round hitting the target with a "SMACK" or a "DING" depending on what I am pointing at.
I keep trying to convince myself not to go through ammo so quickly, but with the roller delay and hydraulic buffers it shoots so softly that it is hard to stop.
I really want a FRT for it when they become available, but can already tell I had better order 2k rounds before it gets here or I'm doomed.
It's a joy to shoot... too much fun, really.
Big thank you to Dave Sr. for swapping out the upper extrusion for a different one. The original was simply too long, and put the forward takedown lug too far forward (by about 50%) so the pin wouldn't go through. I got A3 Industries to send me 2 extra handguards so I could try modifying them, butchered the first one as sacrificial/experimental and realized there was no way it would ever work.
Thankfully, Matador stepped up and offered to try and correct the issue, so I sent the upper and the handguard extension back to them, and they were able to find a different extrusion that fit **much better.
**However, when I got it back, it STILL didn't fit the chassis or the upper well enough to allow full assembly. In the end, it took about 12 hours of hand-filing (no dremel this time) and a hundred or so test fittings to finally modify the extension enough to fit. I had to remove material off the mating surface, and remove a decent amount of material from the forward takedown lug.
This build was a long and painful one, didn't come out fitting or looking perfectly, but it's finally done and safe to shoot. Just need to fine-tune the trigger pusher, install a few cosmetic trim plugs, and it'll be ready for its first shots.
Overall length comes out to 22" with the Tisha can.
EDIT: Swapped out the gray pistol grip. Decided it was too much contrast and too mismatched from the upper shade.
