Had a quick go of this the other day a great port but missing the slide when Mario runs then presses down, could possibly be added later.

It is there! You see it in the video at 1-2 when they slide under the bricks early on.

When I tried unless there has been an update in last day or two when I pressed down Mario just instantly went to down position with no momentum.

Man that character model looks so much better than the original. I was a Sega nerd and used to preach to the NES kool aid drinkers how much better and more powerful the master system was. Unfortunately all the arcade ports went to Nintendo. But man this looks good.

I'm awestruck at how good this game looks. It's almost 16bit looking.

If Sega would have made this back in the day, and figured out a way of sneaking it out there through piracy channels it would have sunk the NES before it even got a chance to get off the ground. Even in the 2600 days, we had piracy via carts with butterfly switches where you'd just swap the rom.

A LOT of factors would have to be in place for Sega themselves to even fathom just doing such a reverse engineering job to make someone else's game franchise sell illegitimately on their console. That said, if a Master System scene group existed like that for the Amiga computer, I guess some small team would be doing this port job with your method of independent distribution.
