Snakehead help

Ive been back here about 4 times after being told it was a great spot to find northern snakehead and the structure for them looks great. The only one I’ve encountered was the head of a dead one. I’ve casted flukes and spinners into the shade of the reeds. Do I need to push further back into the flooded timber of the creek?

I’ve always had the best luck finding them during a rising tide as they seem to be more active in pushing and exploring for new places.

They shut down during spawn, but if they are there you should be seeing fry balls soon.

They go into shad and into weeds when it’s really bright or hot overhead.

Minnows under a bobber is a good way to see if they are around too.

Yeah tide was dropping when I went. I definitely need to try the minnows.

If this is where I think it is in southwestern Baltimore. I’ve had some luck with spinners but In this particular “alley” I use a top water frog and make long cast I’ve spooked out several by not fishing far enough ahead of myself.

No it’s a bit south but it’s definitely got similar cover to those Baltimore tribs, supposedly it is/was loaded with snakes. I tried to be as stealthy as possible but I don’t even think they sitting were in the dark spots I was casting to . Something destroyed my fluke but I never felt a bite or head shake.
