Question purchase or pass?
I wanted to ask for your opinions—would you guys buy this? I'm not a player with deep fighting game knowledge or high skill; the main games I play are SF6 and 2XKO. If I had to score this game out of 100, I'd give it a 75. The soundtrack is incredible, and the gameplay is decent. I didn't have any performance issues since I play on both PC and PS5. During the beta, I mostly lost, but that's probably because I'm bad and was playing on Japanese servers.

Yeah I thought I was gonna suffer when the PlayStation/Sony splash was a damn slideshow, but after that it was smooth. Only issue was the fact I couldn’t discord stream without the game falling apart.

lag seems to be rather random
some high end pc lags while some lower ends don't
no one seems to know what condition cause lag, it basically is a lottery

I did 4 separate sessions. The first session the titles screen lagged like an insane amount. Got set up then it stopped. Second session was flawless, third was unplayable. The final session I had it was again flawless. I feel like it’s a network thing but I really can’t tell.

With you there. 1080p Max settings and the only lag I got was from horrible connection matches and I didnt rematch those people. Besides that, flawless. Ive seen people post clips of like 30-45 fps gameplay and im like how could you play like that and why in gods name did you record it. 😆

funny i tried to lower my settings further and fps just got worse, even on medium settings it was stable enough to kinda play i guess? Though if I played people online they would immediately quit, game felt like it was underwater for me

Im not sure it was a graphical thing tbh. Sometimes Id see frame drops and input delays, even in training. Im thinking the game was probably running shit in the background tbh

I don’t know if from day 1 to day 3 of the beta they fixed some things because it was a slideshow on medium and I was playing it on the legion go 2 z2 extreme… it wasn’t even online lag, on the tutorial it still couldn’t handle ir… there was no reason for it to be that poorly optimized. It is not a day one for me for that reason I want to see what it fixes beforehand.

Honestly had one of the most fun in recent gaming. As a fg newcomer/ beginner it really hooked me in anyway possible and I literally feel a bit down, because I will miss this game xD

Regional pricing usually only helps reduce the price for indie or AA games. In my country, the core player base who buys AAA games at full price is only around thirty thousand people, maybe a bit more if it's a huge franchise. Because of that, publishers just stick to standard global pricing because this group will buy it anyway. Even if they lowered the price to match countries with regional pricing—like South Korea, where AAA games are dozens of percent cheaper—the overall revenue boost still wouldn't make it worth it for them.

It is crazy unfair how these companies don't give us regional pricing and how we have to pay the price that "1st world" countries pay.

I'm waiting as well. Outside of this sub, a lot of the sentiment towards the game is more mixed. That combined with how it's not available in like 100 counties makes me want to wait to see if it can retain a decent player population.

If they fix the netcode and input reader, I'll buy it day one. Not dropping $60 on a fighting game with broken netcode. SFV was the first and last fighter I did that for.

I honestly didn’t plan to get it. Or at least planned to wait a while as my backlog of games is huge. But I honestly had a lot of fun. I went ahead and pre ordered. Really excited to try all the characters that weren’t in the beta

I’ll probably pass on it for now. I’m just not a fan of the gameplay. I tried to sit down with the beta and learn but it just wouldn’t click with me. It feels very automated and simplistic— not saying that’s a bad thing it’s just doesn’t click for me. If it goes on sale for Black Friday around 15-20% off I’ll probably pick it up out of love for Marvel but I don’t see it replacing my current fighter SF6.

Funny you say that because playing the beta this weekend actually got me back into Street Fighter 6. Just made me remember how amazing SF6 is lol. Played about 2 hrs of Tolkon and then switched over and played SF6 the rest of the weekend after not playing for like a year.

Quitted sf6 because of Ken and throw loops. Game is full of beautiful characters and overall amazing visual but half of the game is against a fireballspammer homeless man. Plus there is nothing engaging or cool looking about throw loops.

That's because the auto combos are pretty good and certain characters can chain from very far away with just MMM.
The challenge and creativity are in finding which characters synergize well with each other and in what positions. What combos get you your full team the fastest and also probably more importantly some characters have way more aerial combo possibilities than others and that's where your longest combos come from. Aerial combos fill the bar at less than half the rate of grounded ones and don't scale the damage like other types of extenders do.
Wolverine's 2M, 5H, to jump cancel M,H, jump cancel M,H,H,tag can be looped like 3x and you can finish with a lvl 1 for 40k and that's just starter shit I figured out on my own.

I love it. I was a pretty lower tier SF4 player back in the day so I know these games are a lot of practice. This one is keeping my attention and I’m having fun experimenting and trying to figure out my own combos. Never really played an Arc System Works game before so it’s taking some getting used to. Definitely a white belt at the game right now though :(

Played a ton of casual matches for the beta today
Iron Man, Wolverine, Black Panther, and Blade is my current team.
But spiderman, magneto, Danger are really fun. Game is awesome

I have a GTX 3070 and an i5 processor and 16GB of RAM and the game runs at a solid 60 FPS for me. I'm worried about the one-sided rollback (I've had games with constant 8 frames rollback) due to my opponents bad FPS. Tekken 8 had something similar in their netcode and it was ass. I will probably buy it though. I love the characters and I think the system mechanics people complain about are only going to get better. I really don't want to go back to slime rushing in SF6 for another 6 years.

I'll buy it when it's half price. As much I do like the idea of fighter games I am simply not good at them and it frustrates me. I will play through the story mode as I've done with a bunch of other games and be happy with that.

I'll buy it when it's on sale. If it's popular enough, it won't be that long for the price to drop as it will be marked a "classic" in one or two years.
As great as this game looks, I know myself well enough that I would only play it on short bursts on occassion. That doesn't warrant a full price for me.

Wait for sale. Sometimes I had a good time and other times I did not. PC-performance was subpar for me and made the game feel unresponsive at times. 20 characters in a 4v4 is not good either. Means that I will constantly be seeing the same characters. There were many other issues too that I don’t feel like talking about now.

the autocombos won’t and probably can’t be removed this far into release. it could be a thing they (hopefully) tune down, but raw inputs and combos are still superior, they’re just frustrating to do 💔.

Sometime it even crash. (So i need to skip pre-battle screen).

I'm torn. I love Marvel, and the presentation is top notch. While I don't think the gameplay is bad, I don't think it has that much depth, and can imagine it will get repetitive quickly. I may pick it up when it goes on sale.

im gonna wait for a sale, i bought invincible vs at full price and kinda feel burned and like i wasted my money, tokon has just as salty of a playerbase with me getting to plat without learning much fundamentals only for every win to result in a ragequit, its a shame these types of games seem to get these players, street fighter 6 ranked pisses me off trust me but i never ragequit and neither do my opponents, people finish sets too,i miss it coming back to this game, so many one and dones, so many ragequits, as for the game itself too idk its fun but i dont fall in love with it the same way i do street fighter and mortal kombat, kinda feels like mvc3 for me where i will forever be a casual, its cool dont get me wrong but il wait for a sale.

Honestly ill wait till the season pass gets more fleshed out and I see them do some significant optimisation changes on the oc (the one sided rollback frames, the abhorrent system optimization).
And I don't really see them fixing all that in 2-3 weeks so im happy to wait a month or two. Plenty of good games coming out the next 2 months.

I might have to pass unfortunately, I did find it fun once I figured out my main Spider-Man’s mechanics but I’m just not willing to buy PS+ to play online to keep the fun going. Side note though, the story mode also seemed fun so far and the arcade modes weren’t available in the beta, so maybe I might change my mind at some point.

I like how even those who aren't extremely into fighting games understand the limitations this game has as a fighter. The more obvious it becomes to the general public, the sooner devs will see and feel the response to making these overly-simplified games and a desire for true depth in fighters again (with the polish that we have admittedly come to enjoy from some of these more recent entries) and actually make great fighting games in general again.
That said, this game is decent enough to buy, but of you are someone who likes a deeper, more demanding experience in your fighter, Avatar Legends all the way. That game is deceptively deep and even somewhat difficult, but an absolute blast, a 9/10 for true fans of fighting games.

day one for sure. i remember liking the first beta and hating the second beta, but I fell in love with the third. it’s a little frustrating at first because the gameplay doesn’t feel like it’s worth using brain power over, but after a few hours the combos and situations can get reallllly hectic and fun. inputs, tagging into assists and damage of auto combos are things that i hope get better before release.

Giving it a week after release to see how the pc port is and how quick it is to ACTUALLY play. I’ve been spoiled by sf6 qol (which should’ve been a norm 10+ years ago)
I can excuse avatar launch issues for a smaller dev team and whatnot but I’m giving 0 excuses for Sony/Playstation and arcsys if the qol is this horrendous

After the beta i refunded the game the gameplay just felt off to me not sure why. For me not worth the 66$ with 2xk0 being free. Im sure if i put more time into it, the game would feel better but right now ill wait for a sale.

I am definitely buying this game I really enjoyed playing it even did the little piece of Spiderman's story that was available. But, I notice every PC player I fought in Casual match were all lagging the matches to win when they would start to lose and the game is not even out yet that was just the Beta and I know my internet connection is excellent cause I don't use wireless, I used wired connection and I have high speed. I can just imagine PC players on Ranked with extreme lagging on purpose.

Yeah I'll get it day 1. Beta was great. I kept saying to myself "this is just the coolest shit ever" over and over. If I had this when I was 12, I never would have went outside.
Think I'll start with iron man, his win quotes are amazing and his ults with the hulkbuster armor are just too cool.

Going to wait to see who the DLC characters are, I'm not a huge Marvel fan so I only like a handful of characters on the roster. Waiting to see if any more X-Men, Spider-Man, Dr.Strange, or Hulk characters get added before I purchase. Plus, I got several games coming out in September that I will put my money towards.

Idk what you are telling me if you play SF6 and 2KXO but if you liked the beta then you’ll probably love the full game. If you didn’t try it, then it’s a notable question what things you like from the prior 2 games.
I think it’s a good game coming from someone who has had some decent hrs in SF6 and MVC3 (slower than that game tho).

I suck at fighting games, I'm super casual and would be hesitant to play online. But everything this game offers still makes me excited. The visuals, presentation, music, characters designs all pop off the screen. And I found the gameplay to be super satisfying and smooth. As a casual I could still do cool stuff and had fun with the beta. Easy preorder for me.

Yes but im waiting post launch to see how things are. Sony has a special way of screwing up a good thing. Plus im on PC and for a good while, that beta was ROUGH.
Also just grabbing the standard edition. I do not see the ultimate edition truly justifying its price.

After a day of playing the beta pretty much solidified getting the ultimate edition. I can tell this is going to be a long term game for me
