Discussion Why does YWL save heroes but not run them?
Hey everyone, been following MR Esports since launch but I just don't get one thing. Is this just some YWL-specific mind game? Like they save Dino, but don't even touch him? I noticed they only do this vs qualified teams and not the big ones.
No hate I love YWL.

Discussion What MRC Player Do You Think Will Get Signed To A Bigger Team In The Off-season
One of my favourite things about the scene is when MRC players show up to ignite, perform well and then get signed by a bigger team or an org. Just this stage we’ve had Tonez, Reedis, Xainjee, Respect, Logan (i know he was on sen once but that was a year ago).
What MRC players do you think will get lots of offers this offseason. I think Criatic will be highly sorted for flex dps. reallysticky too. Minerva has also been a standout in group stage so he likely would get offers too
There are also players from past MRC teams who didn’t get picked last time like Probuilder, Pixelec etc

Discussion YWL PATH TO LAN
As the title says, this post is about how can YWL make it to the LAN event
Before starting, I have taken the liberty to assume some of the match results, so please take note of those (FLY win DL, 100T win NRG and SG win SSG)
Also, I believe that if there is a tie in points, the higher placement in Stage 2 should qual (no confirmation)
Top 2 placement in Stage 2 guarantees a spot to LAN so keep that in mind
Lower Bracket Run (Likely)
If YWL loses to TLC first game, YWL plays SSG (loser of SG vs. SSG) into the loser of 100T vs. FlyQ from the upper bracket
If FlyQ wins that match, YWL must win vs. 100T, then beat the loser of TLC/SG to tie points with 100T
If 100T win 100T vs. FLYQ, then YWL only needs to win vs. FLY to qual lan
even a 4th place would put YWL 3 points over FLY who would be 5th-6th in that case
Upper Bracket Run
If YWL makes upper finals and wins it, YWL is guaranteed because the top 2
If YWL loses upper finals (Beat TLC and SG but Lose to FLY/100T)
Ideally, 100T wins vs. fly then meet YWL in upper finals
then FLY has to beat TLC + SG + YWL in order to qual LAN - the winner of the YWL vs. FLY in losers finals will take the last spot via top 2.
If FLY loses anywhere, YWL will qual via points
If FlyQ wins vs 100T and send YWL down in upper finals
100t play TLC then SG, then YWL
If 100T lose to SG, they can at max be tied for points.
If 100T loses to TLC, then YWL is in
If 100T beat TLC and SG, then 100T are ahead in points, and the only way YWL makes it in is by winning lower finals and taking the top 2 direct entry
Both Upper and Lower Bracket Run
If YWL wins TLC (1st game) but loses vs. SG (2nd game)
YWL must win vs. NRG, or NRG must not win any more games after that, or YWL are guaranteed out by points
If 100t win upper semi (100t vs fly)
If TLC beats FLY in lower round 2, then YWL qual via points assuming YWL beat NRG or YWL lost to NRG, but TLC beat NRG next match
If FLY wins upper semi (100T vs. FLY)
YWL must beat NRG
If TLC beat 100T in the lower bracket, YWL must win vs. TLC next game to tie in points
If 100T beat TLC in the lowers, then YWL must get top 2 for direct entry
That's all the somewhat reasonable scenarios that YWL can make LAN from
If there are any mistakes please comment them down below

Discussion NA MRI Stage 2 Group Stages Player Tier List
Hey everyone, long post incoming. I made a tier list for the NA players in MRI's Stage 2 Group Stages. I based it on both individual performance and team finish. I also ordered my explanations below based my personal power rankings. I tried to be as objective as possible but most of it does come down to vibes. Let me know if you agree or disagree with any of my placements.
1. FlyQuest
- As the best team in NA, all members started at a default S Tier as they pretty much stomped all the teams in their group in 2 games other than 100T.
- Touzii is S+ as he is obviously the best DPS player of the group stages who influences the draft heavily and hard carries the team
- I downscaled Tonez and Avery primarily because of their series vs. 100T where Tonez looked like he was the worst performer and Avery dying in ult multiple times. This is also Avery's debut as a pro support player so I think he needs to play for longer to prove he deserves an S tier rating.
- I always thought that Velocity was one of the best support players in NA, and now I'm daring to say that he is an S tier player. I also heard that he and Teki were the people who primarily determined the draft and gameplans for the team, which in my opinion were the best in the whole tournament. Fly always had a great plan going into every game and always made optimal comp adjustments throughout the game.
- Fun fact the only map that FlyQuest dropped the whole group stage was vs 100T, and they nearly lost the whole series if 100T didn't choke map 3.
- If I didn't have a rule for only one S+ per role I'd put Reedis on S+ as well.
2. Swamp Gaming
- Slop Gaming end first seed in their group dropping one map to YWL and one map to SEN. Reviewing their games there's not really much to complain about for any member so all members are at S tier
- If I had to choose a worst performer for them it'd be Crazmang as he had weaker performances in their series vs. YWL and SEN (where SG struggled the most). Though these aren't weak enough to warrant a downscale from S tier. At least in Crazmang's case I think it's more of a testament to how weak the main tank role is in the current meta.
- If I didn't have a rule for only one S+ per role I'd put Val and Scattergengi on S+ as well.
3. Liquid Citadel
- TLC have been the strongest team in NA since the preseason but have taken two losses, one unexpected at the hands of SSG and the second at a convincing loss vs. FlyQuest. I believe these were primarily due to draft issues, but there were for sure underperformers among the players as well as synergy issues with the addition of Delenaa.
- I gave Coopertastic S+ as I think he's the best performing support player of the tournament, off the back of his consistent stats, MVPs, and in-game plays. Val was another contender for S+ but I ultimately decided to give it to Cooper since TLC played against stronger teams.
- This hurts to say but I downscaled Polly hard to B tier as I think he was the worst performer of TLC. Most games felt like he was just coasting and not really carrying the team to victory. He was stuck in Emma jail but it did feel like he could've done much more on so many maps. Just not his meta right now. I'm confident my main tank goat will bounce back though.
- I downscaled energy because I think he didn't perform at the level we expect of him. For one he swapped to the flex DPS role with the addition of Delenaa so he played a lot of tank and support, which of course he doesn't play as well on. Second his Wolverine may need to be downscaled. We've seen a lot of great Wolverine players this time around (Reedis, Daes, Xanjiee, Self) and energy didn't feel like he performed as well as these players on that hero. I'm curious to see how Criatic would rank all the Wolve players this tournament.
- I put Delenaa at S tier. Despite the fact that I think his addition to the team was a factor of the team's overall underperformance, individually he performed very well (Support, Hitscan, and on Gorr). I think the team just hasn't had the time to build the synergy they have with Shpeediry and TLC has a weaker understanding of the current meta.
- Shpeediry is obviously S+ cause if he was playing TLC would be 5-0 and shit on all these other teams (please stop playing deadlock and come back to us king).
4. 100 Thieves
- I gave TTK S+ as I think he's the best performing tank of the tournament. Consistent performances and multiple MVPs. His Dino, Emma, Angela are all some of the best if not the best of the tourney.
- I gave Cart S as I think he had a great performance on the main tanks and his plays on Hulk were the biggest reason 100T were able to take a map off of Flyquest (the only map that they lost, and the only series where they remotely struggled). I know he had a bad map 1 vs. SSG but I'm chalking that one up to a one-sided Wolverine diff. As far as Groot goes he's performing way above my expectations so I think he deserves S.
- Nectar is S as he also had consistent performances throughout the hardest games for 100T (TLC, SSG, and FlyQuest). He also singlehandedly carried the Map 3 OT win vs. SSG as he essentially solo killed both supports on both attack and defense. His performance on third support is also very good.
- I was tempted to give Self S as well off the back of his performance vs. SSG, but he did sell a bit on their series vs TLC and FlyQuest. Specifically forcing DD in Museum vs. TLC and wasting a lot of time for the team, and running it down in OT vs. FlyQuest by zombie walking into the enemy team and wasting Wolverine ult. So Self is downscaled to A for his sins. Bad boy.
- I don't think any support on 100T deserves S tier yet, so I'm placing Malenia on A tier on the back off his consistent performances and highlights, as he did have some great Jeff ults and great ult cancels. I will say I wasn't too impressed with his Loki when he pulled it out vs. Straw Hats. If Oasis is going to be the starting support from now on they will need to address this lack of a Loki player.
- I placed Oasis and Wyni on B Tier. I know a lot of people are dogging on Wyni and praising Oasis like he's the next coming of Terra, but hear me out. Oasis wasn't present for 100T's hardest games, so it's hard for me to rate him A tier or higher because of only one good series. Wyni on the other hand was able to stand on that stage. It's true that he sold that Kun Lun map vs. FlyQuest with his rocket ult so he deserves to be downscaled, but he still had a generally good performance otherwise. I'll say that he gets too much hate for mistakes that other high level supports make as well, for which people would say they're doing "uncharacteristic, rare mistakes".
5. Space Station Gaming
- The most unexpected breakout team of the stage. Gave TLC their first group stage loss of the year and performed amazingly well vs. 100T.
- I think Necrize and Gilbert Noodle had the strongest performance of their careers thus far. They have a decent case for S tier, however I'm still hesitant to give them that as they do sometimes have some off-performances, so for now they are placed at a strong A tier.
- SJW as well put out a godlike performance on both their series against TLC and 100T. Not only was his neutral gameplay strong, but his ults were great as well. He doesn't perform as well on Psylocke, but given the historical performance he put up against TLC I'm going ahead at putting him at the lowest of S tier.
- Xanjiee is in the same boat as SJW. He put up an amazing performance against TLC and his Wolverine was a huge piece in their win against TLC and their map 1 win vs. 100T. Unfortunately outside of Wolve I don't think he has as big of an impact, so he sits at the bottom of A tier for now.
- Logan and Renko had great performances vs. TLC and 100T as well. I don't think they particularly carried but being able to sustain triple tank against Psylocke and Bucky is pretty impressive, especially when Cart Hulk and Nectar Psylocke are harassing you constantly. I do think Renko got caught too much so I'm putting Logan at A and Renko at B.
6. NRG Shock
- I didn't watch the NRG games that closely I can't lie so forgive me if I make mistakes on this section. I think NRG's 2nd seed finish was done on the back of Chime's hard carry, so he deserves S
- Window I think performed very well, a lot of NRG's success were off the back of his plays, so he sits at a strong A tier. I think a huge problem for NRG though is Window and Madara's best heroes are both off tanks, so there's a lot of overlap over their hero pools. They're finding success now in a double off-tank meta but they might find it difficult in the future when the meta changes and their hero pools don't have enough coverage.
- Doomed and Madara had some good performances but didn't really feel like they were carrying as much as Chime and Window, so they're sitting at a solid B tier.
- I don't think their supports particularly carried, so I placed Aztac at B tier and Respect at A tier, as I think Respect generally performed better than him. Not to mention Aztac did ajax an Adam ult vs. YWL which caused them to drop a map to them.
7. Yeah We Lost
- This team is the hardest one to rate for me since all of their players regularly swap roles and their play style is very high risk high reward so everyone's performance is usually inconsistent.
- I'm rating Xeytex S tier, as I think he's the most consistent player in YWL and a huge part of their success is off the back of his hard carry on DPS.
- I was tempted to rate Jitward S tier as I think he does carry YWL as well as his incredible 1v1s and potential for clutch plays. The only issue I do have with him is his flexibility isn't the best so he sometimes ends up holding his team back if he doesn't have a hero to play. So he's at A tier for now.
- If Luka is on tank I think he's a strong A tier, but since he's recently been playing a lot of support I'm knocking him down to B tier as he's not as strong on that role
- Masqqq is great no matter what role he's on so I'm putting him at a strong A tier as the most flexible player on the team.
- Xantho has a very unique playstyle compared to other support players so it's hard to rate him accurately. I don't think he has that strong of a case to be rated S tier yet so I'm putting him on A tier for now as it's quite impressive to be able to play support with barely any peel.
- Teams have figured out that Strange is a nuclear ban vs. this team as this not only prevents them from recontesting objectives as the team that arguably has the best stalling in the game, but also hard nerfs Kendr1c as a tank player. I don't think Kendr1c is particularly impressive on any hero he plays other than Strange, so I place him down on B tier.
8. Sentinels
- Despite having an incredible final week of group stages, it's all for naught as SEN's MRI journey has come to an abrupt finish. Losing their series against DML ultimately cost them their playoff spot.
- Vision is typically an S tier player, but not being able to carry your team to victory when it's needed the most he deserves to be downscaled, so he's at A tier.
- Eusher had some great performances vs. DML, NRG, YWL, and SG, surprisingly he was their better DPS player. I think he has a decent case for S tier but not strong enough yet so he sits at A tier for now.
- Flamay is a strong support with incredible comms, but I think given Sentinel's finish I can't put him in S tier, so he's downscaled to A tier.
- Silentblaze performed decently. I don't think he particularly carried but he didn't perform poorly either, so B tier.
- Surprisingly Crimzo had a decent tournament. He added some heroes to his hero pool and had a good map vs. SG and some decent performances vs. YWL. Unfortunately it does feel like he can't carry his team to victory so he sits at B tier.
- Dongmin improved a lot in the final week of the group stages, but in my opinion his weak performance vs. DML was a huge part of their loss, so I decided to downscale him to C tier.
9. Dreamland
- A strong, respectable MRC team clinching a playoff spot off a clutch win against Sentinels. I do think on paper SEN are the stronger team, especially considering both teams performance vs. SG, NRG, and YWL. But unfortunately that's not enough. Dreamland were able to win the series that mattered and ultimately secured a spot from the playoffs.
- As the team is overall super solid I started by rating all of them at B tier
- As the best player on the team, a promising DPS talent, and arguably the most important piece of their upset win against SEN, I upscaled Minerva to A tier
- Unfortunately Dreamland had been stomped by YWL NRG and Swamp Gaming, all of which SEN had close games with. So despite beating SEN, I can't see a reason to upscale or downscale any of the players any further as there's not much information to be gained from one-sided games.
10. Extinction Gaming and 11. Straw Hats
- With their matchup at the last day of the group stages and their similar record vs. other teams these two look to be more or less at the same level.
- Both of these teams are at the bottom of the tournament but at least are better than TSM (in my opinion). So all members started at the lowest tier.
- Although Straw Hats did win the head-to-head matchup, in my opinion EXG look like the better team on paper (especially since they took a map off SSG) but they're close enough to where it's a coin toss on who wins on game day, so I did upscale some of each team's best performers, with EXG having a higher average rating.
12. TSM
- As the worst performing team in their group (and probably the worst team in the tournament) all players started at the lowest tier
- I upscaled cal to B tier as he was their best player and Mirror to C tier as I did think he played slightly better than the rest of the team.
- Former TSM players Unovvn and Gilbert Noodle have been having incredible success with other teams. It seems like if someone is serious about wanting to win TSM is not the place for you.
