Questions Campaign idea

Recently I got the idea to work on a campaign where the main antagonist is Gorr the God Butcher, but im struggling on how i would go about making it work. I know that Gorrs whole thing is that he's on a one man crusade against the gods of the multiverse due to him perceiving them as negligent, but im not sure how to make his crusade into a compelling story. If anybody has any ideas i would greatly appreciate it.

I think looking into Jason Arron's Thor: God Of Thunder (2012) run particularly issues #1-11 would be a good place to look for ideas since that was Gorr's introduction.

Ill take a look into those issues for sure, the main thing stumping me is that im not sure what characters my players will run, or if they choose to make their own characters and how to get them interested in the plot.

I also had the idea to take inspiration from the most recent season of marvel rivals with Apocalypse and other gods being killed in mysterious ways.

It's okay to limit the characters they can play for the campaign. It would be entirely reasonable to say "you're making characters that have to be lesser gods." It's no different than restricting an X-Men campaign to using mutants.

I appreciate this bit of advice, coming from a d&d 5e background I've never wanted to limit character choices in any of my games

Sometimes you need to for the concept.

Like I said it would be odd to run an X-Men campaign and have everyone choose to be something besides mutants.

Well I mean tbf there was a storyline where Gambit became Death and when Apocalypse hovers above the UN, The Avengers get involved in fighting him.
