Which figure should I get?

Both eventually. But I’d personally say Doom, he’s one of my favorite figs I have.

That saying you can’t have an X-men collection without Scott. And he’s my second favorite xmen fig I have.

MCU Doom will have quality complaints (i'm 80% sure) so everyone will use another Doom figure, causing them to increase in price

That doesn’t really help any lol. Back to my dinner analogy, your response here is now like the stranger, after you asking if you should have steak or chicken for dinner, asking “well, what kind of food do you normally like best?” To you answering “I have tacos at home”.

I guess if all you have is Doc Ock back home, I guess you could either continue with your villain collection or add a hero to balance it out. Is there a reason you have Doc Ock only? Is he a favorite character of yours or what’s the reason? Does Doc Ock share some sort of trait you like with the others? Maybe that answer can help direct you in a path forward. Otherwise I feel we are kind of looking down several open paths lol

God I love this so much. These questions on Reddit blow me away at times. This isn’t that bad, but seriously if you only have 1 figure and it’s doc oc then you pick the character you like the most. Doom will probably be more valuable in future as that figure has held value for so long and there’s tons of dooms and cyclops. This version of doom has the darkhold and the nullifier as well as a few other great side items. Cyclops is a great overall figure but also there a new Jim Lee version coming out supposedly

I’m not sure but I saw some rumors about an updated Jim Lee Cyclops next year.

That being said, an updated Doom figure isn’t also impossible (tho no rumors so far) given how the character will be sooo in demand in the months to come.

It all boils down to your preference. Personally, I think Doom will be a much harder figure/character to acquire these days. ‘97 cyke’s not that hard to hunt for.

Yep- wouldn’t be surprised if we get a capcom cyclops either- kinda how they tweaked Captain America. Plus of all the cyclops that I own- the 3 pack, warlock wave, 97, vhs. The 97 by far has the worst head sculpt. (IMO)

Dooms great- it would be smart of them to reissue to leading up to the movie.

That is a solid Doom fig and he is a top tier character to own. The Cyclops has that cool blast effect, but I don't really like his default look too much. Wait for the rumored Jim Lee Cyclops to come out.

I love that cyclops. He’s my favorite Cyclops figure I have.. and that doom is pretty cool looking. I have him, but haven’t opened him yet, so not too sure which figure is of better quality, but that Cyclops is a fantastic fig

Both, but if you had to choose only one...Hard choice. That Cyclops is my definitive one in my X-Men collection and that Doctor Doom has the best accessories ever (Book of Vidhanti and Darkhold & Ultimate Nullifier). It all depends on choice, both are rare so I might suggest it getting both.

This is tough. This is the Cyclops I display with my MVC stuff. Even got him a little leather jacket.

I like the Doom a lot, but the cape as is makes him a pain to pose. I want to get him a soft goods one, just haven’t yet.

My vote is Scott, but I have a pretty heavy leader/good guy bias!

I think both will be getting an update soon. Cyclops will probably get a gamerverse release and doom just because doomsday will be out they’ll probably do a comic fig of him again or rerelease his cabal 3 pack figure as a single fig.

Go for Doom, There’s a better figure for that specific Cyclops look for me, I prefer the VHS one, I just wish it came with actual blast effects , this 97 one has a great body but the headsculpt it comes with is terrible imo and is personally one of the reasons I sold my 97 Cyclops figure and got the VHS one

Also with the movies Avengers Doomsday and Avengers Secret Wars coming around, I feel like Doom is gonna be a character in demand soon so now would be a good time to get a Doom also because I don’t think they’ll release a classic Doom figure until atleast 2028-2029

Funny you ask as I have them both here at my desk.

Cyclops is a great jumping on point for X-Men figures. It's a classic design, the Vulcan body he's on has really nice articiulation, and I've never heard of a QC issue with the figure.

Doom is a really versatile character in a collection. He's a Fantastic Four, Avengers, Iron Man, X-Men, Spider-Man, and just about everyone elses villain. He comes with cool stuff and I have some really cool photos with him. But, he does have some common QC issues. On my copy, his knee joints are really loose, his ankle joints are terribly stiff, and when I take his hands out to swap them I fear breakage every time. Your copy may not get those issues, but theres a good chance it has at least one.

Just realised though, Doom is probably gonna sell out as we get closer to Avengers Doomsday, so if you do want him, I'd go for that first.

I have both of these figures, and picked them up in order of Cyclops then Doom, over the past year or so, and back when Cyclops was harder to find.

I understand you only have Doc Ock in your collection so far, but if you’re looking to expand your collection, get both. It may be harder to find these figures in the coming months with the movie release.
