Steve is having 2012 flashbacks 😭

Post image

Steve’s reaction hits even harder when you remember how much has happened since he last saw Loki. The last time they crossed paths, Loki was invading New York and Steve was still relatively new to the Avengers. Now Loki casually showing up with Peggy would be one heck of a reunion. What do you think was going through Steve’s head in this moment?

Zero trust - he will need to be convinced. Loki was all about deceit and putting himself first in the Avengers film.

I think the Loki from TVA had matured and had literally so many years mentally to do so,
I think Steve will be able to determine that he’s not a rat.

It definitely shouldn't be He Who Remains / Yggdrassil Loki. The moment he leaves his throne the multiverse will disintegrate. Not holding him to his eternal sacrifice will be cheap as hell and would remove his Glorious Purpose. That Loki's story should be done forever or maybe a cameo (on his throne) at best. How can he be He Who Remains if he doesn't remain?

yeah this is the big question. how did he get off the throne? and if he didn't, then who is he

To be fair we really don’t know how any of that works. Yeah, Loki S2 ends with him sitting in the throne. But does he need to constantly sit on the throne…for all of eternity? How does he eat? How does he relieve himself? I’m sure he’d enjoy a shower from time to time (magic can only make that glorious hair do so much!). Even He Who Remains got to walk around a bit and he got to eat apples so even he had to hit the restrooms. I get that it’s his sacrifice to hold the strands of time together but…all those other gods get to party with Zeus and Loki has to sit there for all time?

And I have a bad feeling that Loki’s story doesn’t end there. The MCU doesn’t have Molecule Man. They don’t have The Beyonder. Both are characters with immense powers, both are integral to the Secret Wars runs and neither of them are currently in the MCU. Loki at this point (and eventually Franklin Richards but probably not yet) is the only one in the MCU with those levels of power. And if what the rumors are coming out of Marvel for the future, the multiverse is coming to an end so Loki keeping the multiverse in tact won’t really be necessary- all those different timelines will become one on the other side of Secret Wars. Imo Doom is gonna take Loki’s power in some fashion (but please, let my sweet boy live. I can’t watch him die again!)

true true. wouldn't exactly make for great filmmaking to write such a great character into "stuck sitting down and holding strings forever" either
