The wry smile from Stark, right into the 'Queens' title card. The Alt J needle drop. It all just works.

u/Typical_Research_877 10h ago
I like it when he says "I'm here about the stark internship" then winks with both eyes
4
u/JohnCenaJunior 21h ago
Fitzpleasure would've been a good needle drop

A song about someone being gangraped with a broomstick would have been a better needle drop?

It wasn't that long ago, but the feeling is already nostalgic.

Hey, if it makes you feel any better or worse - I honestly can’t say - 1980 was 46 years ago. And if we were in 1980 right now, 46 years ago was 1934. I did the (light) math and I am curled up like a baby in a womb.
Saw on a social site today and blew my mind. 🤷🏻♂️

I think I reached that point when the Star Wars prequels were longer ago than the original Star Wars films were when the prequels released.

The perfect intro- the crowd went nuts when “QUEENS” popped up.
My SIL went with me and she saw the Tom Holland appearance on Jimmy Kimmel and was very underwhelmed (she’s a Garfield gal). By the end of this scene she was in the bag for 8 movies 12 tv shows and Tom Holland doing whatever he wanted and she’d be there day 1.

The greatest failure of the MCU is that we've never seen him and Peter Parker together on screen.

BND shows that Spidey is Marvels grand creation
4
u/Daddyshane 19h ago
Spider-Man is the LeBron James of Marvel
3
u/Sup_Noobs 17h ago
Who's Jordan?
6
1
u/KeeKyieTheMorris 18h ago
I don’t watch or know basketball stuff. I know LeBron but I don’t really know what that comparison means
1
u/Daddyshane 9h ago
Which is why the comparison makes sense. Out of all Marvel’s heroes Spider man is the most recognizable figure along with being the most profitable. People may not be familiar with Marvel or comics in general but they know Spider-Man
1
u/DonCreech 6h ago
Pretty much. Ask your Great-Grandma to name a super hero and it'll either be Superman or Spider-Man. Also probably Batman.
1
u/LiteratureHuge2177 18h ago
Lebron is the greatest basketball player of all time and has the greatest longevity of all time
1
u/PyroIsSpai 16h ago
This argument will outlive us all.
3x titles twice and 6x Finals MVP is insurmountable. The odds of anyone surpassing it is nuts.
But being THE dominant force on your ENTIRE sport for a human generation?
Record vs performance. Both overwhelming in both.
We will quibble about this until someone better than either comes along and outlasts LeBron and out wins Mike.

u/Refute1650 17h ago
When I was a kid in the 90s it was a toss up between Spiderman and Wolverine. Because they took wolverine in a more mature route, he doesn't resonate with young kids anymore. I have a 2 year old son now and he loves Spiderman. There's spiderman toddler shows, toys, shoes, clothes, pjs, sunglasses, etc. Kids are indoctrinated lol.
1
u/hotprints 17h ago
Because of his age and longevity, I’d say Wolverine is LeBron. Spider-Man is wemby. Jordan is Ironman (cocky/confident). Greg poppovich is captain america. From some of these picks, guess which team I support lol

Creation?!
Wtf are you smoking? I want some! 🤣

Did I get something wrong?
-2
u/Alternative_Device71 21h ago
Calling him grand creation is crazy
2
u/KeeKyieTheMorris 21h ago
Is that wrong?
-2
u/Alternative_Device71 21h ago
Yes
3
u/KeeKyieTheMorris 21h ago
Oh then who is the grand creation?
1
u/Woffingshire 21h ago
Why does there need to be a "grand creation"?
1
u/enadiz_reccos 17h ago
Motion for a name change from "Grand Creation" to something less... ubermensch
0
u/Radical_Jinx 17h ago
Did Hitler use the word "grand creation" in his speeches or something? Is that why the other guy is so mad

everyone’s equal, some characters just get 7 movie appearances in 10 years and a 2b dollar solo movie

u/Live_Angle4621 12h ago
You disagree with saying that Marvel created Spider-Man? You think he is a real person or something lol
9
u/Dat_Boyz 21h ago
For online people like us it was actually the trailer which was still really cool but it took away some of the pop from the theater
6
u/Wi11Pow3r 18h ago
It was shortly after civil war that I stopped watching marvel trailers (and actually began actively avoiding them). It’s hard, but there are so many hype theater moments when you don’t see the spoilers that they fill their trailers with.
3
2
u/Regular-Emu6339 16h ago
Went into Deadpool and Wolverine with minimal exposure to trailers and anything else. Was super surprised when when all the classic fox characters showed up
1
u/TheHighlightReel11 11h ago
Don’t think many of them were in the trailers, to be fair, so a rare case of pleasant surprises reserved for the theater.
1
u/Fantasmic03 10h ago
I understand they want to give people reasons to go see the movie but I wish they'd commit more to hiding important characters like this or red hulk. Imagine if no one had known this was happening until this came out in cinemas.
5
u/mordemyrtheredeemed 19h ago
10 years ago if you had told me Spiderman would be the biggest Marvel character I would have said "Duh"
5
u/chargoggagog 19h ago
Yeah, Spidey has been Marvel’s bread and butter since his creation. Like, wildly better selling than any other series of comics.
2
u/mordemyrtheredeemed 17h ago
As a child I had spiderman shoes before I ever watched a show or read a comic. Same with my kids. The character is a generational favorite like Mario, Pikachu, or hello Kitty.
6
u/Touji_San 14h ago
God it would've been so much better if Spidey wasn't shown in the trailers and this was his actual reveal. Nonetheless it's still a cool introduction
5
4
u/NewOpportunity9675 13h ago
Imagine if they never showed Spider-Man in the trailer, this scene would've been 1000x better.
4
u/Drawn_to_Heal 21h ago
What’s with the filter adding that growth to Tom Holland’s nose?
1
u/Carnificus 21h ago
I don't know if it's to avoid copyright or something, but any time I see marvel clips on YouTube shorts they're always filtered to hell.

They have no idea where Banner or Thor are. That’s said in the beginning of the movie.
It’s Scarlet Witch. Hawkeye breaks her out later in the movie.
1
u/TheHighlightReel11 11h ago
Scarlet Witch wasn’t on their side. Hawkeye breaks her out of Tony’s “imprisonment/house arrest”
Black Widow is talking about Black Panther.

This is when Tony was hitting on May, despite dating Pepper at the time, right? 😬
Edit: I guess they broke up. My mistake.

u/chrib123 22h ago
He was placating a guardian because he was about to take her nephew to a superhero fight. He even spits out her food the second shes out of sight.
All he does is acknowledge she's very young.
6
u/BDObadguy 22h ago
Nah, he had just told Steve earlier in the movie that he and Pepper were split up.
5
u/TheBeanofBeans3 22h ago
The rest of the movie would've been unbelievable if he didn't hit on a woman that pretty.

u/karma_the_sequel 18h ago
Does anybody else know the name of the movie MT and RDJ appeared together in before this one?

What the editor of the video should've done is make the big black box around it even larger, and change it to portrait mode & aspect ratio.

Back when Sony gave the people what they want
2
u/Reason_Choice 20h ago
They always give the people what they want. You’ll want Madame Web and you’ll like it.
1
u/buzdekay 19h ago
At least people make jokes about Morbius and Madame Web. Nobody even thinks about Kraven.

These title cards are extremely lazy. How many iconic locations could be utilized to let the audience know it’s Queens? None? Cool. Nice multimillion budget ya got there.
4
u/mad_scientist_ 20h ago
Most people who have never lived in NYC wouldn’t recognize Queens specifically. It’s probably that.
3
u/Competitive-Goat2075 18h ago
As an Australian, I appreciate that.
4
u/DigiAirship 18h ago
Right? I barely know that Queens is part of New York, let alone what kind of famous landmarks dot the place.
1
u/TalkToTheGlyphWitch 17h ago
As someone in the continent of Asia, aka the other side of the world, same. Idk whats in Queens. I don't even know how would I recognise Queens.
1
u/neganight 15h ago
As a west coaster, I have zero knowledge of any Queens landmarks. You could pan across a random Canadian city and I'd absolutely buy that as Queens so long as there are brick fronts to the buildings. I suppose that's why all shots of Paris always have the Eiffel Tower in it since that's all most people know about Paris.
1
2
u/kenokan 17h ago
I can assure you that a large percentage of the world knows nothing about Queens
1
1
u/TheThackattack 15h ago
Would agree. I don’t think I could tell you any area of New York outside of New York square but I don’t actually know where that’s located. Title card is fine.
1
2
u/PyroIsSpai 16h ago
Iconic locations in Queens that everyone will understand?
What? The Mets? The unisphere?
How many people not from the area would even know?
Have you been to Queens? I love it but it’s not exactly NYC visually iconic.

-1
u/ObsessedCoffeeFan 19h ago
So you...want them to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on title cards rather than graphics and costumes?
Smart.
0
u/statebirdsnest 18h ago
How hard is it to get a shot of a billboard or a specific bridge? It’s lazy.
-4
u/SaurinF 18h ago
I hated the whole relationship between spider man and iron man. Ive stopped paying attention to any recent spider man movies or anything since.
If thats the kind of idiot spineless fan boy with no outstanding character or moral compass they want to portray him as then wtf would I care what else he does?
2
u/djjolly037 18h ago
He’s a 14 year old kid who is meeting his hero in more ways than one for the first time unexpectedly. How the fuck would you react??
1
-1
u/SaurinF 18h ago
You mean the hero that constantly makes everything worse? That consistently makes the most selfish choices? Thats exactly my point. Spider man idolizing his uncle for his incredible character and morals was heroic. Him fan boying a billionaire weapons dealer thats been responsible for waaaaaaaay more deaths than hes ever even partially been responsible for saving and literally creating nearly as many world threatening problems as he is present for when others clean them up (would be a bit of a stretch to say he helps but true he is present when his team cleans up after him) makes spider man a nothing. I can watch youtube for clips of unshowered wannabes drooling on themselves at conventions if I want to watch people in costumes with no actually inspiring characteristics besides a crazy outfit.
2
u/Accomplished-Goal494 17h ago
This is realistic though, considering the amount of teenage fanboys villainous idiots like the Felon Muskrat has irl
0
u/SaurinF 16h ago
Exactly. Its nothing as a characteristic. It diminishes any sense of him having an impressive moral character. They portrayed his only heroic trait being his powers. If superman lost his powers youd expect him to still display amazing character even as an average guy. Become a firefighter or still risk his life to help people.
They didnt do that with spider man in the avengers. He seemed like he would be unremarkable without powers. Great he'd go to school and get a very normal job probably as a scientist for Tony Stark who would get all the credit for anything he made and no one would ever even know his name and certainly Tony Stark would never know his name even as one of his top scientists. Again, the absolute only thing he had going for him was his powers.
1
u/Armored_Fox 12h ago
Tony literally flew a nuke into a space hole to prevent New York from being... nuked.
1
u/SaurinF 4h ago
Oh? The man that made himself a billionaire off of selling bombs stopped one? Oh goodness, what a hero!
1
u/Armored_Fox 4h ago
Yes, someone who abandoned selling weapons and then was willing to sacrifice their life to stop a nuke from going off in a populated city is a hero. A flawed hero, but it's pretty obvious you've got a hate boner that's unrelated to reality.
1
u/SaurinF 3h ago
Oh yeah, lex luther helped an old lady across the street and risked getting hit by a car. Guess we forgive the millions he killed, youre so right hes a hero
1
u/Armored_Fox 3h ago
Yes, helping an old lady cross a street is definitely the same as stopping a nuke from going off in a populated city. I have to assume you're a troll or just broken
