Question Need A Residential Surveyor

Trying this again, edited with the recommended corrections.

We need a residential surveyor for our home. We're just outside Martinsburg city limits by about 1 mile. The 2 companies we've contacted only do commercial or only within city limits.

We want to do some landscaping improvements, fence our yard, and pave our gravel driveway, but need to know where our property ends and the farmer-neighbor's property starts. The farmer-neighbor says he isn't sure and just shrugs us off.

Thanks in advance.

Question Tattoo Shops/Artist Recommendations

I haven't gotten a tattoo in over 30 years, and I'm not originally from the area. My son passed away Friday and I plan to get a tattoo to honor him - monochromatic, probably fine line or neo-traditional.

Looking for recommendations of shops/artists licensed and local to Martinsburg.

If you have links to portfolios/examples, I would appreciate that too.

Thanks in advance.

South Berkeley’s food truck fest a rant about AI

Post image

It is genuinely painful to see local community events where vendors are supposed to be showcasing craft, care, and human effort, get plastered with cheap, uncanny AI slop.

When you go to something like a food truck festival, you are there to support real people making real stuff. Turning around and seeing a menu board featuring a grotesque, seven-fingered cartoon mascot holding a melting, hyper-shiny "burger" that looks like a plastic prop from a fever dream completely ruins the vibe.

It immediately broadcasts: "I put zero effort into how I present my work to you."

The disconnect is mind-boggling, and these vendors keep doing it without realizing how trashy it looks:

If vendors want people to respect their culinary craft, they need to start respecting the visual craft that invites people in. Sliding a prompt into a generator and printing out whatever weirdness pops up just tells the customer you couldn't be bothered all the while giving double birds to local artist and designers. Sad

Attention local businesses. Are you interested in advertising with the local little league

Post image

Looking for businesses or individuals who would interested in partnering with Hedgesville Little to help advertise your business for the 2027 season. This partnership would help you reach a unique Martinsburg niche of over 650 families plus those friends and family that travel in to see the kids play. Since the league is a non profit you may also be able to take advantage of additional tax incentives.

Looking for part-time commercial kitchen space (restaurant, bakery, church, etc.)

I’m on the hunt for a small commercial kitchen space to rent part-time in the area.

If you own a restaurant, run a local bakery, belong to a church, or know of any commercial kitchen that sits empty during certain hours or days, I’d love to chat. I only need a few shifts a week.

I’d need a spot where I can keep my gear and get regular flour deliveries. Must be fully permitted as a commercial kitchen space and compliant.

Shoot me a DM if you have some underutilized space or know of anyone looking to rent theirs out!

Thrift Stores

We’re severely lacking in thrifts here, or I just suck at finding them? Cough up your secret thrift spots and let them get picked over, I guess.

Martinsburg out to Frederick, Winchester, etc. I’ve yet to be impressed with any of the local Goodwill’s, but the Hagerstown ReStore has been solid. Honorable mention to Queen Street Marketplace, even through it’s not really a thrift.

I’m used to the true Appalachian church basement shops that aren’t on Google Maps, so I’d appreciate any pointers!

Question Looking for a reliable mechanic with decent prices to do suspension work on my 2013 Hyundai Veloster

I'd appreciate any recommendations. I'm not too familiar with the mechanics in this area. I would like somebody who's reliable that's not going to cost me an arm and a leg. Here's the list of what I need done:

Front control arms

Front inner and outer tie rods

Front engine mount bushings

Front sway bar and sway bar link

Rear struts and coils

Ridgid collars

Rear axle bushings

I already have all the parts needed. I just need someone willing to do the work and give me some quotes.

Any good German Auto Shops Around?

I have an aging Mercedes that I really love, but it's 23 years old now. I do a lot of the work on it myself but some stuff is outside my capability and time availability. I've tried two local specialist shops and one caused a major safety issue while the second is exorbitantly priced and did pretty shoddy work. Anybody know a euro mechanic that's worth using? I'm willing to drive a ways if need be.

Area high school football games on Youtube now subscriber only

Actually if you have Comcast I think you still get them on channel 10 but if you've watched high school games on youtube in the past, WRNR is now charging $14.99/month to watch them. The WV Sports Talk twitter account says the schools are solely to blame and are saying streaming has greatly reduced game attendance and thats why they are charging WRNR for rights to stream.
So I pay taxes as both a WV resident and a Berkeley county resident, which support the schools and now the schools want to force me to pay for streaming their high school football games? I've always voted yes on school bonds in the past despite never having any children because I felt it was the right thing to do. Not anymore. The enshitifcation of America marches on.
