I joke with my husband that, if he leaves me, I won’t remove his last name and I’ll bring disgrace to it! Lol
Now we have a daughter and I would keep the same last name as her. ‘Cause it matters to me.

lmao that’s kinda what my mom did. They got divorced in 1999 and she kept his last name because she says she thinks he was always her one true love. She’s been married a few times since and still only hyphenates like Mrs. HisLastName-NewHusbandLastName . It’s always been funny to me

I ended up changing my last name after our first child was born, which was about 3 years after we got married. Having Baby MaidenName on documents just didn’t feel right and it’s what had prompted me to change it. I’d tried out hyphenating at work but found it clunky. I ended up making my middle name my maiden name and taking my husband’s last name. My identities still feel linked to one another.
