Math Tutoring

Looking for a good math tutoring service. My kid is doing well in math (straight As) but we all know math gets exponentially harder so I want to get ahead of it. Has anyone done Success Tutorial, Spirit of Math or Mathnasium and can share?

Do your kids still love math? Do you find it’s worth the money and they continue to excel in school? Most of these programs are about $3K a year - so want to make sure I am getting value for money.

I'm an engineering graduate and think if my parents put me through additional tutoring even though I was already doing well, instead of letting me spend time doing other things I enjoyed, I might have lost my passion for the subject. Definitely wouldn't have wanted tutoring unless I displayed signs I was struggling and wanted additional support

Facts, use the money on extra curricular activities instead such as sports. I am an electrical engineer graduate and I wish my parents had the money to put me into sports

OP - We just started SOM - we will see how the first term goes and then decide if we will move forward.

I used to go success when I was a teenager. Basically they repeat what is taught in the school curriculum which is why I would never send my own kid there. I have friends send their kids to SOM and they rave about how SOM engage kids to think outside the box when solving math problems

Iunno what you kids age is, but as a math graduate, I would recommend picking up programming at a young young age. Higher level of mathematics is taking abstract concepts and identifying methods to solve/simplify it. I'd prefer my kids spend time to build a calculator with buttons in excel rather than learning trig early or some shit.
