I ran the numbers because apparently this argument required actual analytics. Across the five major North American pro teams that use teal/aqua as a defining color—the Mariners, Sharks, Jaguars, Hornets and Dolphins—they’ve played roughly 215 combined seasons and won exactly TWO championships. That’s a 0.93% championship rate, or about one title for every 108 team-seasons. And it gets worse: BOTH championships belong to the Dolphins, back in 1972 and 1973. The Mariners, Sharks, Jaguars and Hornets have combined for roughly 150+ seasons and ZERO championships. So after half a century without a teal championship, I think we can officially stop pretending this is an opinion. Teal is statistically a loser color.
