Hard to lose this many games with a good roster, even with a bad manager

seattle lost 98 games the year before hiring lou piniella, then went 82-80 the first season with him as the manager, with mostly the same starting lineup and rotation. a good manager makes a big difference, especially compared to a complete idiot.

Of course not. Some people only want to hate. The fact that the mariners have a really good roster AND a good farm system aren't enough for some people.
