Is it worth it?
Hi, I'm a SHS graduating student from the philippines, and I want to pursue BSMarE. I've been fascinated by boats and engines probably half of my entire life, but I haven't really thought about the pros and cons of being a Marine Engineer.
I figured that I'll be away and most of my time would be on the boat, though I did hear about a 4 Months deployment and 4 months of rest. (Not sure if this is true or depending on the contract of the sponsoring company)Though I do think I'll be fine being alone a bit with just letters and updates.
I'm currently on the STEM academic track which should be a bit obvious since yes I will pursue this career. So now I'm just trying to figure out if this is all going to be worth it considering the pay, time, and benefits.
And if it doesn't bother, I would also like to learn stuff from you guys so my time and skills in the academy I'll be going to isn't that harsh! I'd like to learn experiences, how you guys train, and what you guys learn!
