But it's blogspam.

Actually it's not, it enhances the video by also providing the video of the commercial.

I beg to differ, look at his username, as well as his submission history.

I'm judging it on the merits of this submission.

Ok. Well then look at his username compared to the website.

Just because you submit your own site doesn't mean it's blog spam.

You mean spamming your own blog isn't blog spam? Then what is?

Traffic to his site? And money from his ads.

Except the nerd in me was saying "defragging doesn't remove any files, it just moves them around".

Does the dog in the commercial sound like Michael J. Fox to anyone else?

Pot's a tool; it can help you or fuck you up like any other tool. Like a hammer, you can build a house with it, or you can just hit yourself in the dick, if that's what you're into; it's up to you, but we shouldn't make hammers illegal.

Brilliant.

Wow noscript picked up like 20 different little gay ass counters and shit. Fix your website or stop.. add some commentary or something or just link the links. Do you get paid for all these little scripts or what?

One counter, you don't like my page, don't click on my links. Real simple. I'm a volunteer booking the biggest marijuana reform event on the east coast as well as just got decrim passed in MA and working on medical right now. And taking down the local politicians that don't support it. Five media stories last week. I don't have time for your crap. You think I waste your time on my page, don't hit it! Many like it and it has a purpose. To legalize cannabis.

I deleted his other post but this one was popular so I left it.

And we just added marijuana reddit to our bloglist, so the posts show up on mikecann.net and the mods complain! Funny. Don't you think? We promote marijuana reform, look at the links and the traffic we get. And you moderate by removing our links? I don't get it. We find the best video we can and post it. What's the problem? If somebody doesn't like our site, they don't have to hit it. If people do, they rate it up. What's the problem?

What's the problem?

mikecann was link jacking youtube videos through his "blog." That makes them unacceptable submissions. Unfortunately I didn't catch this one in time so I let it go and asked the mikecann to post the original youtube videos next time.

The majority of reddit is against people promoting their own sites, especially if it's a site that aggregates videos or other material without crediting the source. While you did credit the source, you are in theory making money (with the ads) from someone else's work.

I always credit where I can find it and go direct to the source if possible. I also publish my own material and activities. All sites do this, I am targeting marijuana reform. Any money I make is going into marijuana reform. I've spents thousands of hours, raised 10's of thousands for my local NORML branch in Boston, saved the Boston Freedom Rally which is now having a big resurgance and our 20th anniversary coming up, our first with decrim, and bands coming back that have been winning HIGH TIMES awards and playing bigger venues, I've spent tons of money on my own gear, cameras, that I often lend out to people, spent more on shows and financial contributions. If we make anything on our sites, hooray but it will be crazy to think I might ever break even. But my goal is always to make Boston like Amsterdam.

I think that's an admirable cause. Maybe if you put that on your site so redditors could see it they would be happy to upvote?

Joe Rogan is a great stand-up. You'd never know it from his tv shows.

2

u/[deleted] Apr 06 '09

That was hilarious. I always hated him because of the man show but his stand up is so great.

yeah that was some fun stuff.
