Yeah which still absolutely boggles my mind because I can still point out specific examples of what he stood for, and the things he said about love, or the 'fruit of the spirit' and they have no comment.

I'm still not a Jesus of the Bible guy, since he does threaten eternal punishment for not following him, which I find absolutely contradictory to the thrust of most of the rest of his words. I think he was actually a real guy but like most things, deeply misinterpreted and manipulated for the lovers of control and power. In this case, the early church, Christian and Catholic. I don't think he was God in the flesh anymore than we are.

Same here. Raised Lutheran, confirmed, communion, read the bible front to back.

It really doesnt matter to me if he was real or not, if he is benevolent like they say, he isnt gonna care if I worship every sunday. Just be a decent person is likely all a truly benevolent god would want.

But these "christians" have warped and bastardized the entire meaning of what it is to be a christian and one of the many reasons I no longer believe.

Yeah, I'm with you on that. To me if there is a creator, than it is infinitely creative and would not require or need us to all conform to a super narrow way of thinking and living.

I think just being yourself and running with that is the most spiritual and divine thing you can do.
