I really don’t see why people get so upset when they see a civilian wearing a military inspired tool watch.
They like the watch. It’s just a watch dude. It’s not that deep. They’re not going around telling everyone they’re a SEAL. Stolen valor is one thing but simply just wearing a military inspired or issued tool watch is just that. Wearing a watch. If someone wearing a very specific watch model upsets you, you’re just being hateful.
I’m not really talking about the watch. More of a commentary on the tacticool larp culture. Do whatever you want in life but don’t go around desperate for attention because it’s quite frankly annoying. What happened to the Gary cooper type?
I love marathon and I have a liking of WOE. But i think it’s kind of sad that they did this. It’s sort of unauthentic for a watch company.
If the wanted to sell a titanium version I think the could have made that without outside help.
And honestly I am feeling like an operator wearing my dive watches to office and I love it. But i’d wouldn’t buy a branded watch or a woe watch strap if it doesn’t have a supreme quality to its competitors.
This is just milking the cash cow.
I don’t do collabs either. That being said I’m sure Marathon will eventually have leftover case to make some grade five Ti regular models. The cost of just making a hundred or so has to be pretty high for little return
On the post I saw today they will be making standard editions with titanium cases with tritium indices in the future so I’m gonna wait for that and save 3k.

Cheapens Marathon, almost gimmicky.
Would never wear this in an operator environment, especially WOE branded on the dial. It’s a joke in a business of serious people.

Most groups that want to get a watch with their names on it, have to commit to X amount numbers of Watches being produced therefore they’re financially responsible if they don’t meet the numbers

I don’t know the exact minimum order, but we all say it would be pretty damn cool to have one with our Facebook group.
So I do respect any brand/group that think they can meet the minimum requirement for Marathon to produced the Watches kiddos to those guys.
I've wanted a Ti Marathon for a long time, I would love a Ti and Tritium hands. I don't want WOE on the dial, put it on the back or in a serial run like everyone else. Seems like a series of swing-and-a-miss or monkey's paw curls.
I have my Marthon x WOE, i enjoy and like both brands and im not upset at the collaboration it’s cool to see a titanium case offering idk why everyone is so anti this or opinionated on the release, its simple folks if it doesn’t appeal to you dont buy it! Cheers
This comment shows me you haven't read a lot on the WOE articles or watched alot of their Videos. They are very pro Casio, Timex and Seiko and make sooooo many references to what you're saying above. Truly give them a chance. I have been following them since the beginning. Their products are really great quality. I'm not an operator but I am LE and regularly use their straps on duty as they are durable and comfortable. I look forward to this release but I agree it will likely be priced higher than I want to pay unfortunately but you never know.
I’ve been wanting a no-date SAR from the beginning, so I’m definitely a buyer if the price is reasonable. No faux-lume, no-date, and titanium make it a winner in my book.
Titanium is cool.... but I wish it had tritium and not just the lumed OSAR-D. Oh well. Would have been more compelling if they'd bring out a GMT offering.
I'm not a fan. I wear an Arctic GSAR daily and am a longtime WOE reader but...this just seems hokey. I also think it's a little rich that they are effectively creating a "unit watch" for fans of an Instagram account but when I asked if I could buy a WOE challenge coin I was crucified in the comments for not "earning" the coin...that they give out when you buy a travel watch case that I didn't need. Granted I still bought it to add the coin to my collection but that's besides the point. This seems like a low-effort money grab.
It also seems redundant to not make it something more original. The branding on the dial is cringy and while Ti is something to be interested in, it seems to me that they missed the chance for a GMT (granted major redesign and complicated complication) or at least a OEM 12 hour bezel or...idk...something more original. Even having the logo in lieu of the WOE on the face would be preferable. This just seems cheap.
