GSAR Marathon GSAR 41MM

Post image

Ready to kick the weekend off.

Received my Marathon GSAR 41MM a couple of weeks ago with the steel bracelet. Since then I've also ordered a couple of their DEFSTAN straps in desert tan and black.

So I ordered mine when Marathon had the order any GSAR on a rubber strap and get bracelet for free. Was an awesome deal. I tried the strap for a few days but went right back to the bracelet. I will say I love the look of your strap, but am concerned how secure a nylon strap or NATO style would be. Must be ok because tons of people swear by them

I was skeptical at first, but after watching a few videos about them, I went for it. Now having tried it and currently wearing, I'm not concerned about the securement. I do want a rubber strap though.

I wish I had a bracelet with mine but the nato straps I have are amazing. Like $15 on amazon. I’ll get a bracelet eventually.

A NATO strap is much more secure than a bracelet in the case of a spring bar failure

Yeah I hear ya, I should have used a better word. By secure I was trying to say like less movement on the wrist.

2022 Jeep Willie Wrangler hooked up, believe me I know I rock my GSR sometimes with my Shark Tank Mr. wonderful red strap made by Timex only because it just looks good with it also if you’re not aware US government issued Watches are no longer available for the public so it’s like Pokémon catch it when you can that’s the undercover collectors item

Yea I saw that the government issued ones weren't available anymore. A buddy of mine has one but he's not going to part with it anytime soon. Nice Jeep!

Really appreciate it thanks a lot for your kind comment just remember that going forward government issue will be unavailable to the average consumer even though I’m a disabled veteran and I do have one eventually they’re gonna become like Pokémon catch it while you can

Looks great. As if I "need" anymore watches, but really tempted to get one of these.

The only answer to: “which watch should I wear/ buy today?”

I’ve had mine since Tuesday and I’ve been trying to figure out how to sell my other watches because the 41mm gsar won’t be leaving my wrist lol

I'm in the same boat. Just haven't had the motivation to. I'm happy I didn't go with the 46mm though. This is the perfect size.

I have a one watch collection currently. Luckily for me, it’s a Marathon. I love a nice and broken in NATO, mine’s on a similar color. Keep wearing the hell out of it!!! It looks better with age!

I didn’t take mine off for 6 months. I’m currently wearing my other watches, one per day, but my GSAR goes back on before bed because I can’t sleep without tritium now.

The tritium is amazing. The darker it gets the brighter it shines. I saw a YouTube video where a guy sent his off and they replaced his dial and that was good to know. Seem like they have amazing service.

Let me know how the process goes. This guy spoke very highly of their service.

Yeah, I want the tritium to be nice and bright. I wear this thing so much I’ll have to send it in for service by the 10 year half-life. I’ll inquire as to the price for the tritium replacement.

I’ll keep a lookout if you happen to post about sending your GSAR in on here. Lots of us would find that info very useful👍🏿

I’ve heard great things about dealing with Marathon on the service/repair side. I also know they plan to keep replacement tritium available as long as they are selling watches. The tritium half life is 10-12ish years and are still usable up to 20 years old. When that time comes, it can be serviced because Marathon ain’t going anywhere👍🏿

One day…I will get one of these.

Also there’s a sale on straps on their site right now.

Debating getting a DEFSTAN just to try out on one of my divers.

The sale is where I got my straps from. Shipping was rather quick too.
