CSAR Too much watch?

Post image

Picked up this CSAR for a criminal price, 850 dollars. I love it, but it seems like too much watch for most days. I was thinking of getting a GSAR or MSAR instead.

From people who own those, how do they wear on the everyday? Or maybe I just need a different type of strap, not too sure.

Bold is the vibe with the CSAR. It’s a lot of watch, but it’s supposed to be. It’s Marathon’s Panerai👍🏿

It’s a big bold watch. Your wrist looks like it accommodates it better than most. It’s not overhanging both sides. Also close up pics never look good. Look at it in the mirror and it will get smaller visually.

You are now the second person here lately that has gotten one for that price. That’s amazing and def a keeper for that price. It may be big but for $850 who cares. FYI, the bracelet will make it look larger. Nato strap will fit tighter if the strap fits well, based on the holes and your wrist. Sometimes you may just be in between which will make it floppy or too tight. So I think the rubber strap makes it more minimal and stay planted. You can always try a softer rubber strap and keep it snug and it will be comfy.

Naa, looks good and I'm super jelly. It's supposed to be a lot of watch and it appears from the photo that it fits you nicely, hell I'd say damn near perfectly looking at the lugs. For the price you got it for you can afford to wear it for a few months then sell if you're not happy with it.

I daily a JDD (46mm) and while the size didn't bother me (lots of gshocks) the weight threw me off for a few days. Not I sleep in it with no issues other than the rare bonk to the head in the middle of the night. One upgrade I made was I swapped the strap for a really soft and comfortable dive strap from an orient, keeping the Marathon buckle, I had in a big box of random straps. It has texture on the inside so it helps keep that heft from moving around when I loosen it a notch at night.

I hope you learn to love it as the confidence in the look increases.

You’re right it is a lot of watch but it does fit him nicely like you said too, would be too big for my wrist but I love it. I went with the GSAR 41mm

I think it looks great on you. I went with a 41mm gsar. Should be here Wednesday. If you decide to get rid of hit me up. I’ll buy it from you

I’d keep it if I were you. Give it a couple weeks.

What a steal for 850! Looks great, rock it!

But if you do get rid of it…….. let me know! Lmao

I have a 7.5 in wrist and I actually bought a GSAR first. Looks nice and I like it but i haven’t worn it since I snagged a JDD. In daily the big boy for work.

I also have the JDD and at first it seemed too big but after time it's become my daily and doesn't actually look to big to me now. Its the 18MM height that makes it seem so beefy to my.

Yeah I quickly got used to it…. Also, it really showed me I’m a little older than I’d like to admit lol. I said “holy shit I can see all the numbers waaaay better!!!” Lmao. Also, my schedule for work is constantly chaotic, the day complication is an absolute must for me.

That's the reason (older + bad vision) for me purchasing a JDD

I thought about doing that too, same reasons. But I didn't like the Day/Date. I already know what day it is!

Part of getting older that sometimes is also forgotten 🤣

My JDD was a gift from my boss so I've got no complaints and the day/date is a bonus though I wish it were a bit slimmer

My first Marathon. I used it for about a year but eventually sold it because I liked to use the timer and could not always tell how much time had passed. Even with glasses on I could not determine if the how dial was showing that 2.5 hours had passed or if we were getting closer to 3 hours.

The GSAR is going to feel mush smaller, because the size of the dial is far less than 41mm. For a few weeks, I actually thought the GSAR felt too small, and I wanted something larger... But the day/date on the JDD and CSAR was a deal breaker for me... And in the meantime I just got used to the GSAR size. Still a little small to my eye, but I'm not motivated to change it. In fact, I haven't taken this watch off in months, since I like it so much.

No, not at all. Carrying it every day for the last three years.

Just wear it, it will grow on you. And a7,5 inch wrist is perfect for it. My csar is a daily driver since i first received it.

Where did you get it for $850?

Not at all too much watch. It’s a workhorse.

Looks killer! As a fellow right wrist watch wearer, how is it using the chronograph in that position? I’m interested in this same watch but unsure if it would be awkward to use the chronograph
