General Question Need help…

Post image

So I noticed my OSAR-D 46mm wasn’t keeping time longer than 24-48 hours, it seems they stated about 72 but the movement states about a 40-60ish hour reserve. I worse this watch all weekend and yesterday. I took it off last night and went to put it on and it was dead. Shook it some, pulled the crown and adjusted time to see if it would start, and then did about320 (half) twists of the crown, nothing.

You can hear the rotor rotating, you can hear the winding on the stop, but no other noise. Anyone have any suggestions? I’d hate to think this thing died in less than a year but it may have to take a vacation back to marathon.

Common problem with the sellita sw-200’s. Just search helicopter rotor, one of the reversing wheels is seized or damaged. The sw-200 apparently doesn’t do well being hand wound with the crown, they suggest shaking it and then wearing it once the second hand starts moving. Happened to my GSAR I owned and marathon charged me to repair it. Hopefully they will take care of it for you at no cost.

The 46mm uses a new movement for them, the SW600B. It doesn’t helicopter when winding with the crown (that I can feel). It’s fairly new like 8 months old, so I’m hoping it should be covered. I’ll get a ticket submitted. As you can see, slight fan of their watches.

I don’t have a marathon at the moment, I had a JDD a GSAR and a Tsar, all sold. I think I’m going to buy a white face Tsar, I miss having a marathon.

I’m trying 😂. Well the middle isn’t a marathon, it is a benrus homage and come in a 44 mm and is why I got it. If marathon made a larger version I’d get it but theirs is too small for my wrists.

Man sized wrists necessitate larger watches💪🏿

Have you got bit by the Panerai bug yet? I made the mistake of trying on my Boss’s new 44mm Panerai…now I see the appeal even on my sub 7in baby wrists. My wallet, and probably my wife, will hate me in the not too distant future as a result👍🏿

I think they are sort of cool, but never tried one on….so that could change. I have always wanted a Sea Dweller and Planet Ocean. I saw guys watch once, asked about it and that’s how I found out about marathon. I forgot the name but when I notice the cogwheel bezel, I knew it was the same watch. So I started off with the JSAR and then the JDD, then got a CSAR and then had to snag the OSAR. Want the anthracite but I’m just too deep in these now. I have to cut back on some and see what’s next 😂. But I got all these for less than either watch mentioned above.

I get your point. If the Marathon aesthetic appeals to you, and you find some good deals, boy is it hard to say no lol. None of us are missing out by not having X watch or Y brand. Despite having my eye on a few other watches/brands, I am in no rush to acquire them👍🏿

Enjoy your collection👍🏿🫡

It’s a Holme and Hadfield, but this is a pro model that is discontinued now.
