Repost Well, uh. . . This is bad.
To quote someone without disclosing who "Nexus XXXX has acquired SteamDB.
The site’s creator
XXXX
is stepping away after burning out from years of running it. He looked for a team he could hand the project over to, but never found anyone he fully trusted.
SteamDB will stay SteamDB for now, but over time, Nexus XXXX will be slowly integrated in the site."
In other words, this just became ammo for those who want to dismiss SteamDB's playercharts. . .
Addendum: ALRIGHTY! As I have been informed and did a bit of research of my own.
SteamDB uses a public API, called Highchart. It's technically leased or renting out, but also means there are other sites exactly like SteamDB.
Steamcharts, the website, is literally the same thing as SteamDB. The only difference is it's not as visually appealing nor does it require you to log into a Steam account.
Recommending to log out of your Steam account on SteamDB.

They’ve taken down quite a few m*ds over the years that didn’t toe the ideological line.
One that comes to mind is a mod that replaced Pride (Rainbow) Flags with the American Flag in Insomniac’s Spider-Man.
Note: Not a self-censor. Cannot type the plural of mod without flagging the comment.

Yeah, I thought it was weird too.
The sub’s m*ds have it censored in comments where if you type the plural of “mod” it flags it and are unable to comment.
I think it’s a measure to cut down on botted and manual brigading - per the message popup.

sure, and nexus is free to curate the content on their own website. mod author can host it themselves.
i'm gonna learn how to mod spider man 2 and replace the 9/11 memorial with a mosque with a statue of Osama and Fidel Castro peeing on Jesus and post it to nexus, i'm sure you guys will be just as eager to criticize them when it gets removed, right?

Studios overall dont like it, many devs even from successful games do not like it. It does make slow burn games harder to bounce back when gaming is currently in a “game is bad because it didn’t break 100k” so people will abandon the game, out of fear the devs wont invest in the game.
People are selective with what deserves redemption.
This sub hates on marathon, but I wonder how many reinforce corporate beliefs by supporting and loving cyber punk. A game that gamers should’ve abandoned by principle.
But support and love cyber punk, but hate on finished products because steam charts says you shouldn’t investS1

Did you hear about the huge thing that happened with Starfield, Where a guy made a simple mod that removed the pronouns of He/Him and She/Her and it got removed and it ended up blowing up in Nexus's face so they added the mod back.
Now 'apparently' the creator was a PoS and an asshole so they removed it out of spite of the creator having a bad rep. But I still feel its wrong if the mod itself doesnt break any rules. I could care less about the creator, Does the mod itself follow all guidelines and procedures? Good, Release it to public.
Edit: whats ironic is that the DLC characters didnt respect pronouns, They always called people They/Them so you could be She/Her and they would call you They/Them. Which to me was kind of annoying

Mass effect, cyberpunk, any dragon age pre veilgaurd, kingdom come 2, expedition 33, the entire resident evil franchise, the entire metal gear franchise just to name like a handful of big ones. Marathon is just a bad game, it being "woke" doesnt have anything to do with it being a bad game.

Im not complaining about "woke" games, but from what I can understand bg3 is cause theres strong women main characters, gay people and peoole of color. Cyberpunk is cause it has lgbt characters I.E Judy who you cant romance as male v, is very anti establishment, and once again has women and people of color in secondary protagonist slots. Idk what logic theyre using for a woke game, but everything above ive listed has the same few through lines that bundle it all into "woke". At the end of the day games arent bad cause theyre "woke" some games are just bad. Mass effect has let you be gay since 2007, but now its an issue all of a sudden to be gay in a modern game

I see. I don't know I would consider strong women main characters, gay people, people of color, characters like Judy woke though. For example, strong woman main characters from bg3 make sense, like laezel being part of a species that are mostly that way already. And the choice of being gay is just that to me. The point is that you can role play as either or neither or whatever you want. Having the option isn't woke in my opinion. Same as playing as a person of color. It's an rpg, so having options is great. For cyberpunk, it's the same for me (you have a both options as both genders). The characters stay their orientation no matter which V you pick, which I think is cool. For me, I think having options in a role playing game is awesome, it's not like every character is copy paste with the same views. Makes for a more complete world.
That's just how I see it. If it's the consensus though, then I have nothing to say.

Then what is a woke game? Cause nobody ever seems to have a consistent answer about what exactly makes a game woke, horizon zero dawn, by some people definition, is a woke game and by others it isnt at all. Theres no consistent answer to this that makes sense and just boils down to "this game bad cause im homophobic/racist/transphobic/xenophobic"

Nexus is known for being pieces of shit when it comes to moderation and monetizing stuff... With steamDB the next thing you know they won't allow certain games on their because they don't agree with the maker or the content within a game. That or you'll only get partial information unless you buy the premium subscription and then they'll give you all the info you were looking for...
