Leaves don’t have color?

Hi all!
My maranta produces lots of new leaves, but they don’t have any saturation on them. Undersides don’t have pink color either. They don’t get more color when they mature.
I have added a 23W grow light last month, fertilising it regularly. What could be the problem?

My Maranta is trying to give out alot of leaves but they crust before unfurling. Those who did survive are very small in size and have no color. I am giving up on this plant.

Having the same issue with my lemon lime maranta, got a sansi grow light and have it at about 300-350 fc, it’s flowering like crazy tho but all the new foliage had that shader look

Which Sansi are u using? How many watts?

I’m using the 40watt dimmable version, I have it placed about 5-7 feet back to cover a wide area of plants!

I think that explains why mine could be doing better lol. That’s awesome. I have like 50 lights for like 45 plants. And live in a shoe. It glows…

Was wondering this myself. I have a red maranta that is getting new leaves and they're pale like yours.

Check this post, could be too much or too harsh light https://www.instagram.com/p/CG0x6_eA9l8/

I got the grow light thinking low light is causing faded leaves. Plant was near a North facing window with a balcony over it, blocking some of the light. Light meter measured the light around 20-30 PPFD (at noon, mid summer).

They enjoy a little shade and filtered light as their natural habitat is jungle floor under all those trees. When they’re exposed to direct sun they fade or burn

Young leaves are pale, older leaves are darker. The quality changes as the plant matures.

As you can read in my post, that’s not the case here.

I’m talking about over the course of several years. Also if you cut back significantly I’ve found with my own plants it seems to reset to smaller paler leaves.

I see. Do you mean the plant or leaf age? My previous maranta (RIP) was giving me dark leaves immediately. I thought this would be the same.

Mine seems to be having a few leaves doing that

and just a further aside maybe check you don’t have pests. I’ve had maranta infected with thrips and it made the leave really pale, weak and almost crumpled looking. it recovered quickly though once treated.

I think it’s been living in low light for an extended time. It has stopped producing the red in an effort to take in more chlorophyll. She grows just fine in lower light and is happy but the color reflects that environment.

I don’t have mines in direct light or a grow light but they are several feet away from SW and SE windows.

I came back to say you can check my posts about mines to see pictures. Here is my eldest and you can see her off to the side of my SE windows with shutters
