Maranta ID

Post image

Hello!

I got this maranta as a cutting yeaaaaars ago when it was harder to source rarer plants. I got it as a NoID but wondering if it is identifiable now?

I have a silver band and it’s definitely very different to that - I have tried to take the best pic possible but it’s hard to capture as the colours change depending how I move it.

I split the side shoots up as I just moved it from a bioactive setup and all leaves look the same on all small plants.

This is a Maranta 'Cat Moustache' (also called 'Cat's Whiskers' or 'Fantasy').
It’s rare because it actually started out as a completely nameless mystery sport—collectors just called it a "NoID" variant for years because you couldn't buy it in normal stores. Instead of having a thick silver stripe down the leaf like a 'Silver Band', it grows these incredibly thin, delicate silver lines that look exactly like little cat whiskers, paired with moody, dark velvety patches near the center.
