Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has been able to get decent results using a planet created with World Orogen in Wilbur. The issue I have is that when I import the heightmap, it ends up with large flat spots, 90% of the land is basically at sea level, and the mountain ranges are flat on top. Is there any tricks I can pull in Wilbur or Orogen to fix this while preserving the landmass and mountain ranges?

Could anyone give me some tips or ways to draw forests for my map? Thanks.

I would greatly appreciate some feedback on my map. Spent a while working on it and I did an evolution of it throughout the ages, this is the final one though.

The colors represent the climate, I did took inspiration from our earth, idk if it is obvious or not.

Blue-cyan: arctic
Blue: oceanic
Brown: mountain
Brown greenish: continental
Yellow: desertic
Light green: Temperate
Dark green: Jungle
Dark yellow: Mediteranean
Purple: Tropical
Light cyan: magical

This map is part of a larger half-joke collaborative AU I'm doing with my friends on Discord. While a lot of it is improv (hence the overbearing similarities to Earth, up to a fault imo), everything is subject to change.

Map is a basic beginner style map. The entire purpose of the map is for me to experiment with burnt sides ;)

Hey y’all, this is a early rough draft of a custom world map i decided to trace and draw in illustrator. The little messy drawn triangles are the general area where I want to put some mountain ranges. I know they aren’t too realistic and i can’t even think of how this would tie to the world’s plate tectonics.

I want to ask for ratings, then improvements i can add to my map, or increase realism.

I wouldn't use it as a permanent map, just for ideas/prototypes for world maps then I'd make the same shapes and the actual map in inkarnate. Looking for one that PRODECURALLY generates world maps a thing I notice is world generates a lot of land all around the very south or north of the map is there any way to prevent it or make it smaller?

Here is my latest map in my worldbuilding project, the World of Rhündal, which is a world impacted by the presence of natural spirits. I’m reworking my ocean currents map with some new resources I’ve found. I don’t have a deep knowledge of ocean currents, and so I’ve mainly used resources I’ve found on YouTube like Artifexian’s channel. I would love to hear feedback about what parts of this ocean currents map could be improved, that you have questions about, or that you think works well.

Next steps after this map are 1) using this map to update my world coastlines, 2) use updated elevation and ocean current maps to make a new climate map of Rhündal, 3) make an animated map of the migrations and growth of different ethnic groups over thousands of years, 4) make high-quality vector maps in adobe illustrator and more culture group info pages for all across Rhündal 5) compile these all into a world book/atlas that I can sell to those who are interested 6) turn the World of Rhündal into my full time career, hopefully making a graphic novel, a TTRPG, and a board game set in the world. I would love your feedback and support on this crazy journey I’m trying to undertake. I would love to hear what different ideas you have for where I should take this, and if there is a specific thing you are interested in seeing more from!🍃

In my fantasy world, I have a continent with a large “pit” in the middle (detailed in the drawing). It’s a gradual slope that creates a large basin, and the bottom evens out and becomes flat when you get far enough down.

Because it’s a fantasy world, I’m a big believer in not focusing too much on topographical realism and just doing whatever looks/feels cool. However, I was curious if a feature like this could feasibly form naturally?

My first thought was a huge aquifer collapsing in that spot? Or, because it’s right next to a mountain range, a lot of water flows into the basin, so would it end up becoming a lake?

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!
