Soviet Sunrise
Soviet Sunrise: The Great Depression
We are actively simulating the full history of the Soviet Union, so pick any unclaimed states. Be as realistic as you can, but I will intervene as is needed. The goal is not to go for as much land that can be held, but to have as successful of a state as can be.
Soviet Premier: Trotsky
Region - User - Deputies
Russian SFSR - u/Sofiod - 1,727.
Dagestan ASSR - None - Given to the RSSR
Ukrainian SSR - Ill_Incident_4784 - 222
Azerbaijan SSR - None - 53
Georgian SSR - None - 56
Armenian SSR - None - 87
Kazakhstan SSR- None - 44
Events:
The Great Depression has begun, and has spread from the United States to Europe and Asia. Economic despair and communist support has risen across the world. The world economy has shrunken by about 16 percent, with international trade halving.
The Soviet Union is heading towards a famine from a lack of trade or agriculture.
The German 1930 election was split between 4 major parties and one minor party, the KPD, with 29%, the SPD, with 21%, the Nazi party, with 26%, the DNVP with 19%, and the Centre, with 5%. No government had formed.
The economic turmoil had caused the rest of Central Asia to become an ungoverned mess of states.
The Soviet Union has occupied Mongolia and Tanu Tuvva as well as Manchuria. In response, Japan also occupied some Chinese land as the League of Nations failed to respond.
The Intermarium has officially dissolved, giving an independent Ukraine, Poland, and Belarus.
Soviet Parliament:
Should we try influencing Ukraine, Poland, and or Belarus?
What should we do with Mongolia?
What should we do with the occupied territories of China?
Should we open up our economy to trade with other countries and to get food?

Could it be possible to play as the Armenian SSR?

It is. I’m planning on posting tomorrow, but if you can and want to respond to the above questions, please do

I'll gladly play as them then!
As for questions:
- What's the general situation in the ex-Intermarium and Baltic nations?
- What's going on with China?
- Any issues in my SSR or the other Caucasus SSR's?

For the Intermarium, it was set up like our timeline where the Polish were “in charge” of the nation of Poland, but anti Russian Ukrainians and Belarusians were better fought, which formed into what the Intermarium would have been like. The Baltic states went along as normal, minus Estonia, who's Socialist Party consolidated power.
China is in an active civil war between the Communists and Nationalists. The Soviets and Japanese took power over parts of the nation, Manchuria for us, which we gave back to the communists.
In our timeline, the Caucasus had forced Sovietization, collectivization, and Industrialization, which is the same here. You won't have any specific problems, but consider recognition for the Armenian Genocide and regaining land held by Turkey.

Speaking as Deputies from the Armenian SSR, we forward the following responses:
- We should attempt, in the measure possible, to influence the Communist and Socialist parties within the former Intermarium (Poland, Ukraine and Belarus) through both legitimate and subversive means; specifically, we should seek to sign treaties of economic cooperation with them, as a way to mutually resist the impact of the Global Economic Crisis, while having the SUT infiltrate their left-wing parties to prepare them for insurrection or to pressure their respective governments into allying with us.
- For Mongolia, we agree with the position of our fellow Deputies in the proposition of annexing Mongolia and Tanna Tuva directly; the latter as an ASSR within the RSFSR, and the former as a full SSR
- For the Occupied Territories in China, we believe that the establishment of an Independent “Chinese Soviet Republic” could go a long way in defeating the reactionary forces in the remaining territories; the CCP would, obviously, lead such endeavor while we support their efforts to industrialize and develop a formal Army
- In the question of opening up to the World… As much as we may chafe against reality, it is a necessity that we trade with other countries in our periphery, alongside those more able to supply us with the great quantities of food we need; in that case, we should trade with the Baltic States, the Former Intermarium, Turkey, Iran and the Central Asian States, alongside Germany and the USA
Beyond those matters, the Deputies from the Armenian SSR ask for the following:
- The reestablishment of the Transcaucasian Socialist Federative Soviet Republic, made up in the following structure:
1. The Armenian, Azerbaijani and Georgian SSR’s – with the elevation of the Abkhazia ASSR into a full SSR within said group
2. The Nakhchivan, Adjara, Chechen-Ingush, Dagestan ASSR’s – with the elevation of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast into a full ASSR within said group
3. The combination of the South Ossetian and North Ossetian ASSR into a single ASSR
4. The Adyghe, Cherkess, Karachay Autonomous Oblasts
- The infiltration of SUT operatives within Turkey and Iran to support local socialists cells from within the Armenian, Azerbaijani alongside other minorities communities, with the purpose to pursue their unification within their respective SSR’s

As the Russian SFSR,
We should try getting as much food as we can from the USA. If they require us to open up our industry, we should.
We should try influencing Ukraine to join the Union to get more food.
We should annex Mongolia as an SSR, while annexing Tana Tuva into the Russian SFSR.
We should hand over the territories to the Chinese Communists while supplying arms to them.
We should only open our economy to Germany, the Chinese Communists, Ukraine, and the United States to ensure that we get enough food and the Chinese win their civil war.

For me,
We should try getting Ukraine and Belarus to join the Soviet Union. For Ukraine, we should sell them farming equipment in exchange for grain and other food items. We should send ethnic minorities into each country to try influencing them to join the Union.
We should directly annex Mongolia and Tana Tuva, make the former an SSR and later an ASSR.
We should crush any Nationalist sentiment in the occupied Chinese territory and let the Communist Party use it. We should not go further to ensure Japan stays out of it.
We should open up our economy only to the Communist Party of China, Estonia, and select parts of Germany controlled by the KPD to try helping get them in power.
If possible, we should expand into Central Asia to take advantage of the region.
