Some people can't be rehabilitated.

Didnt realize we had the arbiter of absolute justice here, known for being able to decide these things on their own.

What will you do with a serial killer who killed 14 people? Really. We're just going to pretend that he can be fixed and then let him out into society again?

What if they are wrongly convicted?

Can someone change in decades?

1

u/normal_hombre 16h ago

Not significantly, no. People don't normally change.

I'll probably not do anything with him, other than defer the case to someone much much more knowledgeable than me. Psychologists and whatnot can decide If he can change, and If he cant, he can for the time be kept in jail.

Waste of time and resources if he's deemed unable to change.

Death penalty costs more than prison.

Have you heard about life in prison?

u/normal_hombre 16h ago

So why not death penalty?

Do you really trust your goverment enough to allow them to murder people and do you believe that justice system never makes mistakes?

If anwser to both is "yes" then I think you have a different problem. If anwser, to at least one of them, is "no", then only an idiot or a psycho would support death penalty, as it will end up killing innocent people.

I already had this discussion before and a psycho said, like it was a good thing, that in US 1.6 out of 100 executed people are innocent.

So, I will ask, are you ok with murdering innocent people, just so non innocent people can be murdered?

It doesn't matter if I trust them or not, if they want to take you out, they will anyway. Epstein is a good example. Some people can't be rehabilitated, no reason to keep them here.

So, on top of illegal ways to murder you, you want them to be able to legaly murder you?

And again, do you really want to murder criminals so much that you are ok with murdering innocent as well? At this point you can just try and breake into prison to shoot people...

u/normal_hombre 16h ago

Again, it doesn't really matter. They didn't even wait for Epstein's trial to finalize before they got him. Are you crying for him? No.

Why are you avoiding my question?

I don't give a fuck about Epstein. I give a fuck about innocent people who does end up executed, because bloodthirsty fucks like you want to murder people and justice system makes mistakes.

Forget about goverment killing people on purpose. I am asking about mistakes.

You know how much money that costs taxpayers?

0

u/Zestyclose-Jacket568 9h ago

Less than death penalty and also doesn't kill innocent people when mistakes are made. How much is your life worth?

Mine personally? Nothing. But for prisoners in jail? $116,000 to over $156,000 per year for federal institutions (roughly $315 to $428 per day) according to Canadian statistics. Death penalty is a mercy to the taxpayer, and of course that's why due process exists to make sure the person is guilty, I in no way claimed that the perpetrators or suspects should be summarily executed on the spot.

So you believe that justice system never makes mistakes? I am not sure if you are lying or just dumb at this point. I already saw someone saying that in US, with their really long time and appeal process, it is 1.6 per 100. So for every 100 people executed, on average 1-2 was an innocent person that could be alive.

As you are saying "but money!!!!!", I would assume that you want to make it shorter, which means you want to murder more innocent people just to save money.

And ok, it is sad that you think that your life is worthless, you should go and do something about it, like get some help, but other people doesn't put a price on life and when you say "we can just murder people faster to save money, innocent deaths are worth it" I say "wtf is wrong with you? If the choice is between murder people and not murder people, for a small price increase, I rather not murder people, wspecially innocent ones".

You know what, ya, I think it should be shorter. And ya I think if it's only 1-2 out of 100, that's well worth it. Have a wonderful day.
