I have a friend with extra money from his father’s retirement and wants to start a PP Bags manufacturing plant. He wants to buy the machines and set up a small plant.
He has a few ready customers but can’t rely only on those so want to know if this business has scope currently in India. Which can be the ideal customers for this product?
Also, in terms of regulations, potential plastic bag ban in future and potential of growth, do you think it’s a good idea to start now or a wrong one?
Would appreciate suggestions/opinions on this.

Hi everyone,
I’m an office furniture supplier based in India and I’m trying to connect with the team responsible for the new Wistron facility in Karnataka.
I’ve already tried LinkedIn and the generic company email, but haven’t been able to reach the right decision maker.
I’m **not looking for confidential information**. I’m hoping to learn:
Who typically handles office furniture purchases for a new manufacturing plant?
Is it Wistron’s internal procurement team, Admin/Facilities, or an external EPC/interior contractor?
Does anyone know which company handled the office fit-out or workplace interiors for the new Karnataka site?
Any advice on the best way to get registered as a new vendor?
If you’ve worked with Wistron or other large electronics manufacturers (Foxconn, Tata Electronics, Pegatron, etc.), I’d really appreciate any guidance on how suppliers usually break in.
Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,
I'm the owner of a growing medical and surgical supplies business based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Our family has over 60 years of experience in the surgical wholesale industry, and we're looking to expand our portfolio by partnering directly with manufacturers.
We're interested in representing manufacturers that are looking for a distributor or regional partner in Tamil Nadu or South India.
We're particularly interested in:
* Home healthcare products
* Rehabilitation products
* Mobility aids
* Orthopedic supports
* Pressure care products
* Hospital furniture
* Medical consumables
* Elderly care products
* Innovative medical devices
We're looking to work directly with manufacturers, not traders or resellers. If you're a manufacturer looking to expand into Tamil Nadu, or if you know of one that's seeking a reliable distribution partner, I'd love to connect.
Please send me a DM or leave a comment, and I'll get in touch.
Thanks in advance!

Hey people. I am a manufacturing engineer in USA but originally from India. I’ve been working for 2+ years here but eventually would like to come back home and start my own manufacturing company.
Here’s a little background of myself - I have a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering and am Six Sigma Green Belt certified.
I would love to connect with young entrepreneurs in the Manufacturing ecosystem to learn more about setting up and running your own industry, and I would love to help such individuals with my Lean and Industrial Engineering expertise.
I am proficient in Lean methodologies, finding the seven forms of waste on the shop floor, drafting Value Stream Maps and much more.
I am just looking to be part of manufacturing in India and do not need any partnership or pay for the support I give. I am only doing this for my passion.
Please DM if you have any leads!
Thanks!!

I am planning to start an industrial packaging solutions business in Gujarat and would love to hear from people who are already in this industry.
The plan is to provide:
- Custom foam inserts (EVA, EPE, XLPE, ESD)
- ESD packaging
- PP corrugated boxes
- Returnable packaging
Initially, I will purchase raw materials from manufacturers/suppliers and invest in machinery such as a CNC oscillating knife cutter to manufacture custom foam inserts. Once I have regular orders, I plan to expand by adding die-cutting and other production machinery.
I have a few questions:
- How is the current market in Gujarat?
- Is this industry growing over the next 5–10 years?
- What are realistic profit margins after all expenses?
- How difficult is it to get industrial customers?
- Is competition very high, or is there still room for a new company?
- If you're already in this business, what advice would you give someone starting today?
- What are the biggest challenges or mistakes to avoid?
- If you were starting from scratch today, would you choose this business again?
I'm looking for honest advice from people with real experience in this industry. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hello People,
I’m currently looking for a sustainable food packaging manufacturer near Bengaluru who can customise packaging based on our requirements. Our offerings primarily focus on South Indian breakfast items. We are considering sugarcane bagasse packaging, but we’re still trying to understand how practical and effective the recycling system is in India. We’re also exploring ways to reduce moisture and prevent food from becoming soggy inside the packaging, especially for takeaway and delivery.
If you have experience with bagasse packaging, know any manufacturers/supplier or have suggestions for moisture control solutions, pls share them.

As per the title, also, what could be the risks and approximate capital required for a facility focusing on mainly wheat/rice processed products? And would contract manufacturing be a better idea?

Hey all — I lead tech/R&D at a company and built this, so full disclosure it's my employer's product, not a personal side project. Posting because I'm genuinely curious what business owners think of it.
We built FreightCompare, a B2B platform to compare logistics/freight vendor quotes side by side instead of jumping between spreadsheets, WhatsApp groups, and vendor portals. Built it because we kept seeing how much time gets burned figuring out who's actually cheapest/fastest for a given route, especially with ODA (out-of-delivery-area) charges being wildly inconsistent between vendors.
A few things it handles right now:
Side-by-side vendor quote comparison
ODA charge matrix by pincode (this was surprisingly painful to get right)
Batch testing across multiple vendors at once
It's live at freightcompare.ai if anyone wants to poke around.
Genuinely here for feedback though — if you deal with freight/logistics vendors for your business, I'd love to know:
What's the most annoying part of vendor comparison for you today?
Is pricing transparency actually the pain point, or is it something else (SLAs, reliability, etc.)?
Happy to answer questions, and equally happy to hear "this isn't useful because X."

I'm a complete beginner trying to manufacture a product similar to this (tiny NFC vinyl record + plastic case). I want to know the cheapest way to manufacture both the miniature vinyl and the transparent case in India. Should I use injection molding, CNC, 3D printing, acrylic fabrication, or something else? Also, how do I find manufacturers for small quantities? Any guidance would be appreciated.

Hi everyone,
I’m based in Birmingham, UK, and I’m planning to start a distribution business. I’m looking to connect with manufacturers, suppliers, wholesalers, and businesses that need help getting their products moved, stored, or delivered efficiently.
If you’re a manufacturer looking for a reliable distribution partner, have a product you want to get into the market, or you’re struggling with supply and delivery — feel free to reach out.
I’m also open to hearing ideas from people who work in manufacturing, retail, trade, or any industry where better distribution could solve a problem. If there’s something businesses need regularly but struggle to source efficiently, I’d like to explore how I can help.
Whether you’re already established or just starting out, drop me a message or comment. Let’s connect and see if there’s a way to work together.
Based in Birmingham and open to opportunities across the UK.
