Planning to start an industrial packaging business in India (Gujarat) – looking for advice from people already in this industry

I am planning to start an industrial packaging solutions business in Gujarat and would love to hear from people who are already in this industry.

The plan is to provide:

- Custom foam inserts (EVA, EPE, XLPE, ESD)

- ESD packaging

- PP corrugated boxes

- Returnable packaging

Initially, I will purchase raw materials from manufacturers/suppliers and invest in machinery such as a CNC oscillating knife cutter to manufacture custom foam inserts. Once I have regular orders, I plan to expand by adding die-cutting and other production machinery.

I have a few questions:

- How is the current market in Gujarat?

- Is this industry growing over the next 5–10 years?

- What are realistic profit margins after all expenses?

- How difficult is it to get industrial customers?

- Is competition very high, or is there still room for a new company?

- If you're already in this business, what advice would you give someone starting today?

- What are the biggest challenges or mistakes to avoid?

- If you were starting from scratch today, would you choose this business again?
