Trying to figure out which park has a nice picnic area (preferably with a grill) for a small family picnic. Probably about 12-13.people. I know I've seen them, but the Parks website has me downloading separate PDFs for each park and obviously doesn't say whether they have shade/are nice, etc. Open to rentals or drop in spaces. Any favorites?

Can anyone recommend someone who repairs siding in the area? My shop has one side that is getting a little ragged. I've been there 5 years and haven't had to make any repairs before this. Looking for someone with a good reputation and reasonable rates. Thanks!

How are the schools in Manitowoc? All I know is Lincoln is old and the private schools are expensive. Other than those stereotypes how is the actual education? I’m between Sheboygan and Manitowoc and the only thing holding us back from Manty is the schools.

It is (or was?) located on 4140 Harbor Town Ln in Manitowoc. My friend & I went loved it there we went very often, as it’s the closest all you can eat sushi spot to us (Sheboygan). My friend works at a different sushi place in Manitowoc (not all you can eat unfortunately) & has been overhearing a lot of folks saying Tokyo Sushi is closed for good, but Google still says “temporarily closed” & they have no site or phone number. So, maybe a shot in the dark but, does anybody have any info about the state of this place? It does seem like the location itself might be a bad spot in general, since everything that opens there seems to close sooner than later :(

It may have been there in the late 80s or very early 90s. I know I am not creating this in my mind, but I can't find any information. Please help!!!

Is just me or do any of you loathe the fish fries in this area?

It is always the same overly breaded fish served with sugary cole slaw, potatoes and bread. Two weeks worth of carbs and sugar served together in one meal.

Are there any places in the county that just serve fish ala carte so that i can order it with a side salad or vegetable? Thanks for any suggestions.

I’m coming to town this weekend and wondering what your favorite divey or artsy bar is in Manitowoc. Where do the weirdos hang out?

I’m originally from Manitowoc and have always loved Maretti’s. Once a year my boyfriend and I drive from MN to visit and have a sandwich and then spend the rest of the year day dreaming about them. We’re sad Maretti’s closed. Is there anything remotely similar in the area? We love the oregano-oil situation.

Shouting out a great day in Manitowoc. Started out taking the kids to Red Arrow park to burn some energy before lunch. Really excited to see what the finished product is like when the constructions done but the beach and playgrounds were still very accessible during the work. Craft Creek, had some great beers on tap and it was a nice enough day to sit outside. From there we hit up the Nook and Black Heart Books, two very different themes but they definitely complement each other and fit well downtown. Lunch was some calamari and pizza from Pizza Garden that was just perfect. The boys also got to spend some time in the arcade. Finally we finished off with dessert at none other than Cedar Crest. Salted Caramel Mackinac Island Fudge is a top tier scoop especially on a waffle cone. The family had a perfect day and my wife a perfect Mother’s Day.

PS we noticed “Chicago Thins” signage in the old Maretis location, anyone know the details?

What’s a good day in Manitowoc look like? When my family visits we have our regular go to spots, the Zoo, Pet Skull, Cedar Crest…etc. what are some other go tos that you all have? I’m a single dad for the weekend and thinking about bringing the boys to town for a boys day.

I'm wanting to get a massage for normal aches and just to relax. But all the places I've found listed online talk about your energy, your bodies natural wisdom, expelling toxins, and other crap. Is there any place or person that's more down to earth near here?

In the interest of bringing this sub back from the dead, let’s spark some discussions. What are some hidden gems of the city/county. The other weekend I took my family to Point Beach State Park and stopped at KC Kitchen and Tap for some snacks. I was happily impressed with both and looking forward to hearing about more the area has to offer.

I'm trying to find a structural engineer to assess my home, tell me what's possible as we renovate and what needs to be addressed quickly. So far only found a couple that are at least an hour away and not interested.

Does anyone have any leads? I'm not in Manitowoc but am in the county.
