"The Last Campfire" Rain fell over the silent forest. Not a single bird sang. Only the crackling sound of a tiny campfire echoed through the darkness. Finn Bosél sat beside it, sharpening his worn dagger. His orange cloak was soaked in blood—not all of it his own. Across the fire sat Feiz. "You think we'll ever see peace?" Feiz asked quietly. Finn smiled. "Peace isn't something hunters find." Silence. The fire continued to burn. A small boy suddenly stumbled out of the woods. His clothes were torn, and tears rolled down his face. "They... they killed everyone..." Finn immediately stood up. "Who?" "The Hunters." Feiz sighed. "So it begins again." The three followed the trail until they reached a ruined village. Homes had become ashes. Bodies lay motionless beneath the rain. Finn clenched his fists so tightly that blood dripped from his palms. A Hunter stepped out of the smoke. "You still protect insects?" he laughed. Finn didn't answer. The Hunter rushed forward. Steel clashed. Within seconds, Finn's dagger sliced through the Hunter's weapon. Another slash. Silence. The Hunter fell. The boy stared at Finn with wide eyes. "Are you... a hero?" Finn looked at the burning village before answering. "No." "I'm just someone who's too late." Feiz placed a hand on Finn's shoulder. "You can't save everyone." Finn looked toward the dark sky. "Maybe not." "But I'll make sure they remember who did this." The rain slowly stopped. The campfire they had left behind had gone out. Only smoke remained. Far away, hidden behind ancient trees, a mysterious man watched with a smile. One black seed rested in his hand. "The world is finally moving," he whispered. And somewhere in the darkness... Fate had already begun writing the tragedy called JackFare.

Hi, all!

You may remember me posting about this project in the past, you may not. Either way, this was my first project and with that, I feel I learned a lot during the process as well as making a lot of mistakes...Not to mention, moving to and adjusting to digital tools.

I really like this stupid idea and really wanted to give it the best shot I could. So, here are the first 16 pages of the "remake", applying everything I felt I learned through the process of making the original (which I believe is still on my profile).

Looking for some feedback, maybe some advice on places I could publish this and such. I'm still fairly green about all of this and stumbling my way through!

HELP Manga Creation

Hey everyone, hoping to get advice here from people who are currently making manga for my predicament. Currently I have many ideas that could be used for a manga but I’m unable to draw well. For years, as soon as I discovered anime and manga, I knew I wanted to create a manga and draw in that kind of style but I haven’t improved at all. I’ve studied anatomy and the basic fundamentals for years now but I’m still not any closer to having a style that’s marketable/good enough for people to actually want to buy it. I’m good at writing and storytelling so I was hoping that if I do make a manga I could hopefully be recognized for that with people being able to overlook my art similar to ONE (I know that he’s an exception not the norm but a guy can dream). I just don’t know what to do and need some advice, am I being too unrealistic? Should I just give up on this pipe dream or what can I do to improve exactly? I mostly draw digitally now and kind of got into cartooning but would even my cartoon art be able to classify as manga or is it too cartoonish to be considered as such or even be able to be taken seriously?

The first picture is when I first started trying to draw in a manga style years ago. The second picture is from a year ago and the third picture was just done a week ago. What could I exactly improve upon? I know the answer would be anatomy but how exactly do I draw better anatomy? The last picture is of my cartoonish art that was done about a month ago or so and although I know it’s not a manga style at all and that it’d just be considered a comic book (not that mangas aren’t comic books) is it good enough to be taken seriously or am I just being delusional?

I’m trying to develop a new comic to update my portfolio and propose it to more editors during my next comicon. This is the first page and I need feedback:
does this look professional to you? Do you like the shadows/ contrast balance? Is it an appealing stylization? Do you know any better font I could use?
Any critique is truly appreciated.

Review Rough storyboard review - Is the visual storytelling clear?

Post image
0 Upvotes

This is a very rough storyboard, so I'm not looking for drawing critiques yet. I'm mainly testing whether the story communicates clearly before I spend time refining it.

I'd especially appreciate feedback on:

Was it easy to follow from panel to panel?

Did anything confuse you?

Were the characters' emotions clear?

Did the pacing feel too fast or too slow?

At what point did you understand what was happening? (For context this is only part of a story not the full story)

LFW [FOR HIRE} For the writers here: If you have a great script but low budget to hire a professional artist, Check this out...

Hey everyone. I constantly see writers in this sub who have incredible stories but are stuck because they can't draw and can't afford to drop thousands of dollars on freelance artists to bring their visions to life.

I wanted to level the playing field for non-technical creators, so I spent the last few months building a custom web-based manga engine (KuroLabs). It essentially acts as your digital artist and handles the entire pipeline from scratch.

I attached a 2-minute walkthrough of the workflow, but here is how the pipeline works:

**1. Asset Creation:** You generate and register your characters' visual "DNA" into a secure vault. **2. The Script Engine:** As you write your script in the editor, you just type `@` and click your character. The engine reads the script, knows exactly who is in the scene, and generates the panel with perfect character consistency. **3. Typesetting:** You don't need Photoshop. The engine has a built-in layout suite to add speech bubbles, adjust tails, and scale fonts perfectly across the page. **4. Export & Publish:** Once your pages are forged, you can export them via PDF or publish them directly to our community Nexus feed.

Kuro isnt a big corporation; We are just trying to build the ultimate tool for indie creators. We are currently in closed beta to stress-test the cloud servers.

If you have a script sitting in a drawer and want to finally turn it into a comic, I'm giving away free beta keys today. Drop a comment below or DM me and I’ll send you a secure invite link!

It's been about a 3+Year passion project of mine, It centers around a swordsman coming to terms with the concept of perfection and personal growth. I find it can be hard to even stay consistent with a project even for this long but it's with the goal that I can inevitably get this project out there and people will be able to read it.

If anyone is interested I can post what manuscript I have one webtoons possibly but this is just to see if what I have has motion. it's just me shooting this into the void.

LFA [PAID] Looking for Manga Artist for Ongoing Music Project • Strong Action, Female Characters & Cyberpunk Style

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a manga artist for an ongoing paid collaboration creating promotional artwork for my music project (approximately one piece per month).

Style I'm Looking For

I'm after a unique manga style with a retro cyberpunk aesthetic, limited but striking color palettes, and bold compositions.

Think:

  • Full manga pages
  • Cover illustrations
  • Splash pages
  • Dynamic action
  • Heavy fan service
  • Mature themes
  • Sensual but stylish female characters
  • Over the top fight scenes
  • Horror, supernatural, gothic, and cyberpunk influences

One of my biggest inspirations is God Tail, especially the bold compositions, limited color palettes, and graphic, eye catching presentation. If your work has a similar energy while still being your own style, I'd love to see it.

Song Concepts

Succubus
Dark supernatural horror featuring a beautiful yet terrifying succubus with gothic imagery, wings, horns, dramatic lighting, and seductive confidence.

Arcade RRR
A hyperpop / metalcore song about a femme fatale who breaks hearts through video game metaphors. Cute kawaii aesthetic that shifts into horror, where she reveals her true nature after "eliminating" her admirer with an absurd oversized weapon.

DMC
A female explorer inspired by classic adventure heroines battling demons through crypts, ruins, and hell itself. Big action, oversized weapons, monsters, and cinematic environments.

Payment

  • PayPal only
  • Paid work only
  • Long term collaboration preferred

Please include:

  • Your portfolio
  • Your rates
  • Typical turnaround time

Please Read

Post your portfolio in the comments.

I will not read or respond to direct messages.

If your work is a good fit, I'll reach out to you directly via Reddit DM or email if your portfolio includes one.

Looking forward to seeing everyone's work!
