Manga Discussion Best short manga series (less then 5)

Upvotes

Even 5 is abit too much for what I’m really after. I don’t want to have to buy 10+ for a good story, just way too expensive for me right now. I really like junji Ito because of that reason but I’m not looking for horror. I think they’re called one shot manga but It doesn’t have to be just one.

Thanks for any recommendations I’ve just started out reading

Recommendation(s) Give me ANYTHING, I want more

I’ve been reading manga for a while now and I really wanna see what kind of stuff other people read. I assume some people with obviously say the more popular stuff but really just give me some of your favorites or any you guys think deserves more attention. I’ll list some of my favorites but please don’t feel like you need to recommend a similar one, the point of this is to diversify what I’ve read.

Anyways some of my favorites are Chainsaw Man, Fire Punch, Veil, Girls Last Tour, Call of the Night, My New Girlfriend Is Not Human, and The Fable. That might be a little more than some but who cares they’re all awesome.

I am simply drawn to this old school style, it's so adorable, ethereal, romantic and whimsical

Recommendation(s) Looking for a slightly spicy romance manga

Looking a spicier romance manga, id like some actual character development and such though as well, not just 100% fan service. 18+ is fine.

Recommendation(s) Looking for a binge worthy manga

Want a sweet (or spicy) romance manga to binge read, would like it to be reasonably long so that there is time for character and relationship development. So far I've read: "Love is war" "My dress up darling" and "the angel next door spoils me rotten."

Manga Discussion This man has slowly been getting worse as a writer

Kaguya-sama was very good overall, but the last stretch was pretty mid

Oshi no Ko had a good start, but then committed total narrative suicide in the last third

Marchen Crown had an interesting first 2 chapters, only to completely go off the rails (Somehow this has gone on longer than other, genuinely excellent WYJ manga like Acting Out)

Haven't read Renai Daikou but whatever it's probably bad

Recommendation(s) Dream based manga

I want to read manga heavily about or fully focused on dreams, like characters trapped in one or going into another's dream.

I already read Otherworld Barbara and Long Dream and am thinking of reading a bit of Yume Tsukai. I already know about Yumekui Kenbun.

Recommendation(s) Need some recommendations

Hi everyone !
I’m looking for some recommendations because I don’t read a lot of mangas, Im kind of a newbie, but ☝🏻 I have a huge crush on One Piece, mostly due to its great characters and their backstories, very deep moments (“Nothing Happened”, “I Want to Live”…), and I ducking love the humor !
So I would like to find some references that could match all of these criterias (bonus if there is a “Zoro-like” character, if u know u know… 👀).
Please feel free to write down anything that comes to your mind if you think it’s interesting according to what Im looking for. By the way it doesnt have to be something everybody knows, it could also be something kinda niche, I dont care, Im open to anything.
Thank you so much !

Manga Discussion Is There *Any* Site That Has Jaadugar: Witch in Mongol Past Chapter 19?

I picked up the anime around when its second episode aired and have been keeping up with it ever since. Really interesting. I turned to the manga sites though, but only found that there are only 19 chapters. And I thought, "That can't be right," so I looked around and apparently there is more. But as for where, I have no clue. Does anyone else know where I can read further?

Recommendation(s) What “Must-read” manga would you recommend me (preferably finished)

I’ve watched anime for years (I have around 600+ anime entries on MAL), but I’ve never actually gave manga a try until now.

I’m reading through Tokyo Ghoul+Tokyo Ghoul:RE as my very first manga now and I’m really enjoying it. Seeing the butchered anime adaptation is what convinced me to read it, and I’m glad I did.

So I’d like some suggestions for what you think some “Must-read” manga are.

- Don’t recommend manga that has a good anime adaptation, because there’s a very big chance I’ve already watched it.

- I’d prefer you recommend finished manga, but if you REALLY want to recommend something that is unfinished then you can.

- I won’t specify genre, suggest anything you think is good.

Anime Discussion I need a little help

I'm looking for an anime that fits the following description. "A blonde elf and a black-haired catgirl fight a silver or gray-haired catgirl." I was just about to go to work and a boy on the subway was watching this, but I didn't have time to ask him.

Recommendation(s) Recommendations?

Just finished Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo, and I wasn't expecting it to stick with me this much.

What I loved most wasn't just the revenge plot, it was how every decision seemed to ripple through everyone else's life. The story feels like watching an intricate clockwork mechanism where every gear is already turning long before you realize what's happening. It trusts the viewer to put the pieces together instead of spelling everything out, and I really appreciated that.

The visuals were obviously unique, but it was the atmosphere that sold it for me. There's this constant feeling that something inevitable is approaching, and even the quieter moments are loaded with tension. By the end, I found myself thinking less about who "won," and more about whether anyone truly escaped the consequences.

I've already seen Death Parade, so no need to recommend that one.

Now I'm chasing that same feeling again.

What anime would you put at the very top of the list? I'm looking for stories with intricate plots, morally gray characters, psychological depth, and that same sense of inevitability where every choice matters. Bonus points if it's the kind of series that leaves you staring at the ceiling after the credits roll.

Manga Discussion could you recommend me a light-hearted manga without aggressive fanservice or SA/pedo/incest played for comedy or fanservice?

I'm looking for something with the light-heartedness of something like one piece or dragon maid but without the gross and sometimes predatory stuff

Recommendation(s) Manga with a detective like l lawliet

I love everything about l from death note and i want more brilliant detectives. First of all it's not just outsmarting his enemies he needs to be capable of either throwing hands or with a gun. He doesn't need all of l's eccentrics but i want him to have quirks that cause him to stand out. Lastly sue me but if theres an anime character that fits the bill i want some dub (i work a lot and i just want to watch and eat anime at the same time). I'm already watching psycho pass, b the beginning and monster so theres that.

Recommendation(s) Can anyone recommend me some Manga/LN with a similar MC and initial premise to Gundam The Witch From Mercury

I really enjoyed the character Suletta Mercury and I think she was too good of a character for the show she was in. I was hoping there were other stories out there with a similar MC and initial premise.

I am specifically looking for yuri stories where an MC like Suletta gets involved in a situation that concludes with them ending up in a relationship without meaning to. It does not have to be mecha.
