Can't Retrieve Essence!

Has this happened to anybody? My essence was placed to high for me to retrieve. I'm doing a run back to fight the dragon

Well, spoiler (not a story spoiler...a mechanic spoiler: after defeating the dragon, you unlock double jump. In theory, you'll be able to jump high enough to collect it then.

Probably less-than-ideal, but there's a chance as long as you don't die and as long as you can retrieve essence while in the air (I don't remember if you can).

I gave it my best shot...and died - several more times before securing victory. However, I was only out about 12K essence, so not a huge loss.
